I decided to explore the park; I could always go shopping later with Hayate and Fate, its more fun with more people anyway. The park was lovely, a large grass field with a small pond to the north, the entire area was surrounded by a wall of trees making it seem as if you were in a forest if it wasn’t for a few of the larger buildings that were visible above the treetops. Speaking of trees, the southwest was where the most trees stood. A nice little bit of woodwork.
Walking along the path I noticed a familiar face. It was the blonde haired boy from my class. He was sitting on a bench not even a few steps away, reading a book. He obviously must love reading, I wonder what he reads?
“Uhm… Hi.” I decided to greet him.
The boy’s eyes shifted for a moment before they looked up from the book he was reading and to me. “Oh, hello. You are the new girl in the class, Nanoha-san, right?”
Wow, he already remembers my name? This is the first time we’re talking!
“Ah, I’ll introduce myself.” The boy placed a marker on the page he was reading and stood up, making a light bow as he introduced himself. “My name is Yuuno Scrya, pleased to meet you.”
“Ah, no, the pleasure is mine.” I responded with a bow of my own, though I expected mine to be a lot more nervous. I didn’t really think he would be this polite; he looked more like a shy bookworm.
Although he did smile at me when our eyes met in the classroom.
“What was that book you were reading?” I asked him, trying to keep the conversation going.
“This?” Yuuno asked as he held up the book. “This is a book about ancient Egypt. The first Pharao’s, to be exact.” He sat back down on the bench and I followed his example.
“So, are you interested in archaeology then?” I guessed. He smiled.
“Yes, among other things. Archaeology is a profession I might pick up, but on the other hand I also find working in the library to be a lot of fun. I’m part of the school’s library club, I would have joined the archaeology club, but we don’t have one.” He finished as he scratched his cheek. “However, I’m part of an archaeology club outside school. Our professor can be demanding at times, but he knows what he is talking about. I’m learning a lot from him.”
As we sat there talking, I could see his face look far away into the future when he was talking about the things he had planned in life.
I let out a small giggle at the irony, which drew Yuuno’s attention.
“Was it something I said?” He asked with a questioning look.
“No, no” I waved my hands. “Well, I just found it ironic that an aspiring archaeologist is looking so far into the future.” I explained, a small smile and chuckle still present.
“I dive into the pasts of others, not my own.” He replied with a smile. “What about you? Do you have anything planned for the future?”
…
Mental breaks in full reverse. That would describe my mind that moment. What had I planned for the future? I couldn’t honestly say something from the top of my head. I mean, I had thought about it, sure, but I didn’t have a clear picture of just what it was that I wanted to do.
“I… don’t know. I know there is something for me that I want to do, but I don’t know what yet.”
“Hmm.” Yuuno thought for a moment. “you could come down to the library some day, we could look through a few books and maybe we’ll find something that peeks your interest.”
I smiled and nodded, that certainly sounded like a plan. We stayed and chatted for while until it was getting too late. After that, we bid each other goodbye and I returned to my room in the school dorm. My room was still tidy, no surprise considering I hadn’t really done much with it yet, the kitchen had a separate chamber, and the main room simply had a desk on one side, the bet on the other, and a TV at the opposite end of the bed. I let myself fall forward on the bed with a sigh. Today had been a great day.
~-~-~-~
The next day arrived with the sound of my cellphone alarm going off and the sun glaring in my eyes, poking me to wake up. I groaned as I sat up straight in my bed and looked around; it took me a moment to realize I was in a different room.
Oh yes, that’s right, my family moved and I’m boarding now…
That realization woke me up faster then a splash of water could. Obviously it hadn’t really sunk in yet that I was no longer living home before. I let my head hand forward for a moment as a slight feeling of nausea welled up.
Still, it was a school day, so got changed, munched down a small breakfast and went off to school. Once I got near the entrance I could see Fate waiting for me.
“Good morning Nanoha, how was your first day yesterday?”
“It was great, Hayate showed me around the school and I also talked to Yuuno-san.”
“That’s great.” Fate smiled, whew, maybe she won’t ask- “So, how are you feeling?”
Nuts.
The nausea returned, truthfully I was feeling horrible, but tell that to Fate and she goes complete worrywart. Most likely she will talk me out of going to school, but I can’t skip on my second day!

A: [lie] “I feel fine, come on, let’s go.”
B: [small lie] “A bit homesick, I guess.”
C: “I feel horrible.”
I'm going with B. Might find out who the school's guidance counselor might be...
B
Seems like the best answer here, even if you look at it from a canon PoV... though A might have been even better in that case...
...oh well, i suppose we'll be meeting shamal later on now.

I have my doubts about looking through some books to find out your possible future plans
Other than that, a pretty nice chapter, though Yuuno sure seemed like rumbling Going to vote A and see what happens. These don't usually last long anyway.
Nice conversation time with Yuuno. Guy really has it all figured out, must be nice .
But I think B would fit fine. Full out lying wouldn't feel right and I know how it feels to not want to just not show up on your second day. Maybe its just hard for me to take a sick day period. Will see how it all turns out.
Whoa... that's a lot of votes. And what is it with you people and parks?
Well at least we rubbed a few noses finding more Yuuno.
