BP took 20 days to translate the whole first volume of Seirei Gensouki while still translating the weekly chapters of Arifureta. And judging by the length of last chapter and epilogue of volume 1, it would probably have taken him 15 days if not for JNC's intervention. The reason the whole first volume is already on JNC is because they had already licensed this novel more than a month back. My point is, BP would release around 1.5-2 volumes worth of translation per month. Do you really think JNC will do anything close to that? You'll be thanking god if they release a volume at each 2 months! Just for reference. BP translated 9 volumes of Magika no Kenshi to Shoukan Maou in less than a year and took mere 3 months for a whooping 8 volumes of Masou Gakuen HxH. So, nope, in terms of release speed you won't be getting something anywhere near as fast as BP from JNC. PS: Just checked the translation of Seirei Gensouki done by JNC and it seems quite good. That's good, it's at least worth buying then.

Frankly, i think they already licensed this for quite a while, long before the whole 1 month things, 1 is that you need to talk with the publisher and the negotiation, and after that is the whole formal procedure, which the books got licensed should be a lot earlier, and consider that the timespan to AX, i'd say that the volume was translated for quite a while.
TBH, i actually expect Kou 1, shinwa den or saikou mahoushi to make the cut rather than Seigen, they look like the thing that'd sell more. Though consider that they licensed 12 titles at the same time, i should expect this. |

Alright, I made a separate LN thread here: https://forums.animesuki.com/showthread.php?p=6255575
Hopefully I included everything needed. Licensed tag can probably be removed from this one now. |

It took Gouki over half a year to arrive at the Seirei no Tama while the MC took a week to cross that distance. Latifa was able to travel to Strahl to Seirei no Tamain over a month (despite not being able to body reinforcement).
I am once again amazed by the difference in abilities between the humans and the other races. Has there been any cases where humans completed a contract with spirit? Based on Arthur first meeting with the MC and the low contract rate even among the Seirei no Tama, the cases where human perform contracts with spirits seem non-existent. |

At least, this is how I understood the difference between magic and spirit arts. Plus: you can only do one or the other. |

I read the latest chapter but spirits normally are strong in only one attribute. However, in the author's notes it is stated that Dryad and Oufia could cancel barrier (just like the MC, Aisia, and Reis). From what I have read Oufia is unable to copy mana manipulation from magic like the MC can. Most likely she can only fly with the help of her contracted spirit. Oufia is the Seirei no Tama's best spirit art user yet even she is unable to match the high spirits.
Anyway, does this mean that spirits are able to assist in non-attribute spirit art? I wish I knew the standard for spirit art since the MC is too out of the norm. |
