2024 Fairies Album (Bai Yo Pu) Season 4

First attempt at creating a thread and at including a donghua or Chinese animation series.

Tao Yao is a doctor with a combination of angel and demon in her character. She travels around the world with a young monk named Moya. It isn't long before Gungun the fox, Prince Liu the snake devil and others join their adventure. They show their skills, treat miscellaneous diseases for monsters, and also help humans along their journey.

Fairies Album or Bai Yao Pu is a supernatural series with a similar vibe to Mushishi or Natsume Yuujijnchou. Tao Yao isn't like Ginko or Natsume, though. She's a lot more mischievous, and there are hints that she's a lot older than she looks. The show was originally a series of two-part stories, with Tao Yao and Moya encountering different "fairies" (who seemed more like youkai to me) and helping them with their problems. The second season tried to do longer story arcs, but personally I didn't think it worked as well. The third season returned to the two-part format, but also settled the characters down in a specific location instead of having them travel around.

The first two seasons are available on BiliBili, while the third season is on Crunchyroll. BiliBili has announced Season 4 for next year, but no word yet from Crunchyroll on whether they'll pick it up again.
