The first episode of every season has always been on the lighter side of things and this is no different, with the usual staple like Albedo hijinks, maids following Ainz around all the time and ending up crying at some point, and of course everyone telling Ainz how supreme he is

The highlight for me would have to be Fith climbing to the roof to follow Ainz, The maid before her just had to sit with Ainz inside his room while Fith had to climb buildings to follow him around

I didn't know there was a plot reason as to why Pestonya didn't appear after season 2, and Ainz even mentioned a new NPC that would probably appear at some point, no idea about the significance of the mention of that NPC though.

All in all I never dreamed that we'd get a 4th season of this at all, I was very happy when s3 was announced but getting a 4th season is like finding an extra chicken nugget when you thought they're all gone

Watching the episode I quickly realized I've forgotten everything from season 3 other than Ainz utterly crushing the human army. I was super confused to see him run a human kingdom, or rather, pretend to run it because he has no clue what he's doing.

I don't remember that maid either.

Yeah, I should have re-watched season 3 with my brother. He clearly had the right idea.

She's pretty much a background character. There's something like, IIRC, 50 maids taking turns serving him.

Add me to the list of those who have completely forgotten the events of Season 3. I never thought I'd say this but I wish shows would do recaps for new seasons. When going years between seasons is hard to keep track of the plot.

That said, I'm curious to see where this goes. Up till Season 3 it's all been about war, now it's about managing the aftermath of conquest so I'm curious to see how the story goes from here. It's pretty much uncharted territory here.

I'm surprised Albedo didn't rip that guys' arm off when he touched her. She has more self control than I thought.

The princess is still as evil as ever. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to know what that box does or not.

The start of this season doesn't seem bad. Even the CG is well done so that it doesn't stick out as a sore thumb.

I love how the princess and Albedo get along, they might be both yandere, but hearing them speak sounds like two pure young girls in love.

And I pity all the monarchs around trying to guess what Ainz is planning. He himself doesn't know, so how could they?

Yea, he's lucky to be alive (at least for now heh). Would've been funny to see her reaction if instead of her shoulder he copped a feel or stroked her wings, lol

It's always funny to see people freaking out (and now losing their hair) over how cunning Ainz is when we know what he's really like.

And Albedo managed to get a kiss... on the cheek. I'm amazed she actually managed to talk Ainz into it, she was so transparent

Poor Ainz, all he wanted was to recruit some adventurers to explore the unknown parts of the world, instead what he got was the entire empire with a willing and capable emperor to be his administrator
