help with audio volume using media player classic?

Hi I've used Media Player classic for a long time and it has a feature that bugs me to no end:

if I use the scroll bar at the bottom of the window to (for instance) skip forward to a specific point at playback, the audio volume forgets its setting - specifically the audio gets a lot louder.

Is there a way to fix this so that it doesn't reset the volume?

thanks

ps if I pause playback and restart it the same thing happens

It may be useful to know that the volume control in MPC-HC is controlled by your mouse's scroll wheel (or your touchpad's multitouch scrolling function). This can lead to accidental volume increases when trying to manipulate other controls.

I'm using a desktop so there's no touchpad; and I'm not touching the scroll wheel on the mouse. So ...?

Does the volume slider visually move to the left or the right?
Try disable audio normalisation, if you have that enabled.

I don't see the volume bar moving.

However I've discovered this: if I disable the "enable built-in audio switcher" option the issue is resolved.

Thanks for the input.

Happy Christmas everyone.
