help needed

hi i've just started collecting gundam models recently and currently the only model i have is the hg GX 9901 DX model... well ive done assembling but feel the models kinda light n 'empty' inside... so is it ok to put extra putty inside just to make it a little heavier? just wanna know...

That was one of my early kits. A good tip is to get some of those soft lead weights (the segmented kind you can break easily) and fit as many as you can into the feet before putting them together. This helps anchor the generally top and back heavy kit. Putty works too if you want to go that route.

check out your local fishing shop.
You will find varying size and weight of lead weight

This is a size comparison of a 1/100 MG Gundam ver. OYW against a 1/100 Phantom from FSS; the top of the gundam would go to about it's bottom of the upper torso piece:

Not sure if it'll help or not.. but there you go.

Hmm.. WB = White Base... you know, from the original gundam series.... Your attempt at humor failed miserably. (At least I hope it was an attempt at humor... otherwise... it's just sad to see such ignorance in a "gundam modeling" thread....)

The 1/100 FSS model is a recast kit I picked up from www.e2046.com It's a rather poor casting too, alot of misaligned cast. If you are interested in picking up this kit, I would highly recomend getting the original from HLJ. If you want more information about this FSS build I did, check out these pages:

Hey guys - I don't post here very often so forgive me if this has already been mentioned. Will there be a HG 1/100 Akatsuki released from GSD?

Nothing has been announced about one yet, but I think Bandai will be announcing July's upcoming kits in the next few weeks, so we might see one then.

ive got a couple that i havent started yet, they dont seem very far from gundam size, although there may be shorter and taller Mortar Headds (yeah, thats not a typo, theres two 'd's in Mortar Headd ). its kind of difficult to judge because of the proportions of the body parts, seeing as how the style is so lanky and just plain different from gundam. they do have quite alot of detail, and a fairly high amount of parts for such small size, on top of being a glue together kit, quite frankly im utterly intimidated, and i would definitely not reccomend such a kit to a beginner unless you have no qualms mucking up such a beautiful kit
in case you're curious, i have Knight of Gold Lachesis and Knight of Gold v3 from Wave, got em off ebay for like 20 bucks a pop

SAL shipping takes about 1-2 weeks for me, im in ottawa, ontario, canada.
What tool sets do u guys recommend to purchase. It's really hard for me to cut the parts off of the board properly, and sand the little parts.
