Ah, Guhoo. Pure loyalty to the very end. When Guhoo revealed that he had told Vera about Shinra's betrayal from the very start, I was especially impressed. I've liked him ever since the 2vs1 fight against Gangryong.

Madoka was impressive too. She managed to break Vera's mask of cool composure. Vera kept a pretty good mask until then.
I wouldn't even realize it was a carefully built mask, except for the author's earlier placed scenes. Like where Vera's giving herself a pep talk ("You are strong, Vera"), and the scene with Lightning Tiger.

And wow, the Elders are pretty ruthless. Death penalty for those who steal techniques. Therefore, all Reunion students must die. Except Gangryong. It makes me realize again: this manhwa is all for black and gray morality. There are no heroes; just people fighting for their own ends, some more ruthlessly than others.

Reunion? Basically a development institute for weapons tech and fighters. Attempts to acquire all traditional arts; crushes anyway in their way.
Traditionalist Elders? Tries to kill all students in Reunion, because it is against tradition for more than one student to learn their secret arts.

Seriously? These are the two to choose between? Lovely.

black & grey morality...uh, i don't see much black here, the morality in this series is pretty realistic, and expressed quite well, too. It's one of the strong points of this manhwa

Heh, noticed something interesting when re-reading chapters. It looks like Vera leans more towards the Traditionalist camp. Which is pretty funny, since traditionalists like Rud, Jeeha, etc. opposed her. I always thought she was just trying to usurp Yuri's position in Reunion, but it seems like her goal is something else.

I got a laugh out of one page. Reunion's USA branch was researching artificial ki in combination with ESP? What, we have espers in the Veritas world? Bizarre.

Some of the Elders tried to contact Hayato's teacher about Vera's deal, but they couldn't find him. So they accepted on their own. Later, he was found and they tried to convince him, since non-Heaven's Riches arts look up to Northern Broadstrike or something. But in the end, Hayato's teacher was the only one who refused.

The black is in how ruthless a lot of them are. No one's definitely "good" or "evil", but almost all of them are willing to cripple or kill anyone who opposes them.

Arguably, it's just a natural part of their martial arts world. But it still paints a pretty grim world.

Really, Gang is the only truly righteous one, even though he has an asshole personality. Although it seems like Hayato/Jeeha/Rud/Honse are pretty good too, at least from what what they've shown.

Wow. I didn't think Vera could be any more of a bitch than she is. I was wrong. Making Rud kill himself is worst than her killing him. And it's only a single chapter left. Far too much tragedy in such a short amount of time, and nobody's kicking ass yet? I hope Gang just explodes with power and starts to kick some ass.

On a side note, I didn't think she saw Rud as that much of a threat. I thought he was the weakest of the 9 Dragons, heck, he had a hard time with Guhoo when Gang beat him up in a single blow. It makes no sense.

Also did anyone get what Vera meant about not having enough Heaven's Riches?

Finally I am getting the bad feeling that in Part 2 Gang will be more mature and lose some hot-bloodymindedness

She meant that there wasn't enough elders on the roof to kill fire dragon and Rud's bunch with certainty. Taking out Rud would increase the chances of the elder's success considerable since it seems like fire dragon + Rud combo would be quite hard to defeat.

On that note, OMFGGGGGGGGGGG!

I can understand how Vera's reputation must be crashing all the way to hell at the moment but I really hope there is a redeeming reason behind this sacrifice and one that is actually convincing. I still like her and hope she doesn't end up being a cannon fodder at being "evil" for a petty reason...

Well I'm sure the reason will be valid but I'm not sure people will like it.
Either way I still find myself liking Vera as well, altho she has gone and killed a some of my fav characters can't seem to really muster any amount of hatred or dislike for her for some reason.....maybe, just maybe it's still down to the fact she's still smoking hawt

I love how this just kicked into overdrive, got more intense, thrilling and OMG action in 1 chapter than you do in 10 chapters for most other series *ahem yes I'm looking at you Bleach*

1 chapter left so heres hoping Gang shows us a little something.

I doubt the series will end well. I've read a lot of manhwa and found them to have stupid ending like they were canceled serialize and have to rush to finish the series.
