Well, one of the strongest arguments against Yumerry was that they would be forever separated after Merry goes back to the ~~Emerald~~ Dream. Another argument, though a longshot, was that they were siblings due to the scenes in the anime OP.

The first has been disproved now that Yumeji has been shown to originate from Dreamworld, while the OP scene was explained to have occurred for a different reason. Furthermore, the sibling argument is fairly unlikely since that plot device has already been used for a character other than Merry.

Well then it's gonna end up as a whether he will choose to go with Merry or stay with Isana as a human.

Eh... I always saw Yumeji and Merry as kindred spirits, not love interests. They are always together, but even Isana acknowledges that. However, Merry also knows there is something between Isana and Yumeji and supports them as well.

It's still possible for Yumeji x Isana to pick up while Yumeji and Merry stick together as partners.

I'm glad the scanlation is still ongoing. 51 is out.

Very impressive how it took no more than a few pages for Yumeji to snap himself out of the shock from the big plot twist.

Well he did have a warning from Clione before so he was probably prepared for something.

My only reason for reading this manga is to know about the twist, not average shounen fighting!

It's more like they've got priorities and the top priority is to save a bro. Yumeji is an awesome MC.

No, I prefer it this way than have Yumeji hesistate and play the cliched battered drama queen in the middle of a battle.

The last thing anyone needs is for a person fighting to give up halfway not because he's hurt, but because he merely learned a piece of truth. That would be unnatural, terrible pacing.

You see, as of ch 53, Yumeji still doesn't do much. I want a fast revelation and more badass Yumeji asap. His power to copy other's power is awesome but he always got his ass kicked if he fight by himself...

I have a feeling that somebody is going to die or get heavily injured while trying to protect Merry. If it's the former, then it could be John or Threepiece. If it's the latter then Yumeji seems to be a likely candidate.

No one injured in chapter 53, apparently. Since they were fighting in John Doe's world, he (or Yumeji, maybe) desummoned his field so they would return to the real world and give them time to regroup. Then Engi summoned her dream world afterwards to launch a counterattack. It worked, but it didn't do much damage.

Very clever. The chapter not only had action, but some planning behind it as well.
