Hurray!!! Boy have I been itching for some Fairy Tail. I've even considered doing a rewatch of the show lately (which is a gruelling task).

Screw the haters, I've always felt like Fairy Tail never grew stale for me unlike other big Shounen series did and really wanted to see the rest of the story animated.

Considering how many people has dissapointed with how final arc finished
the sales of anime most likely will decline than usual income.
What a bad strategy, releasing anime after the "meh" ending.

We can only hope the anime will flesh out some key scenes to make them less wasted. It's managed to do it very well when done right, usually when they're based on ideas Mashima wanted to include in the first place. Like the time Ultear was quaking in her boots when she met Zeref, only to have Zeref lying on the ground in the next scene like a pansy; while Mashima tried telling us how it was plausible, the anime showed it instead. Or that subplot with Gajeel meeting himself in Edolas, that was some entertaining stuff, and plot-relevant to boot.

Do you remember what arc or episode that was? I don't remember that at all but I'd like to see it.

I wonder if they'll change any parts from the manga regarding the plot. Guessing not but good to see it will finally wrap up the anime.

Funimation to Stream Final Fairy Tail Anime:

"FUNimation Entertainment announced on Friday that it will stream the "final series" of
the television anime adaptation of Hiro Mashima's Fairy Tail manga this fall. The series is
listed on Funimation's simuldub lineup, but Funimation did not confirm whether it will
offer an English-subtitled version as it has for previous seasons.

The anime will premiere on October 7, and new episodes will debut on TV Tokyo, TV
Osaka, TV Aichi, TV Hokkaido, TV Setouchi, and TV Q Kyuushuu on Sundays at 7:00 a.m."

And...it's back! Final season's first episode is up.

Catchy opening song similar to the style of some of the previous ones. We got to meet Natsu and Lucy right away along with Happy and the other Fairy Tail members like Gray, Erza, and Juvia. There's still usual comedic moments like Natsu doing some unpredictable things lol

Lyon, Wendy, and Shelia are also back! I guess the series is really trying to get fans familiar with the show again.

Not a bad start.

I figured this would happen judging from one of the PVs, but I'm nonetheless pleased that the anime has already made its first improvement over the manga:

Spoiler for MAJOR manga spoilers:

I'm also glad the episode didn't just end with Natsu getting trampled on by Shelia and actually went a little bit further ahead to show him in action, giving it a much stronger note for the episode to end on. On top of that, it was a great pacing decision to do both that and tease the scene in the beginning that wouldn't happen for another 70 chapters, though I don't think I should hold my breath and expect every single episode to do this.

YEY! Fairy Tail is back! Happy happy days!

Great comeback imho. No pacing issues, gave us enough time to get re-acquainted with the show and it's world and even ended up with some action at the end. Bring forth the next episode!

Also: Charle become smoking hot hum?

Safe to say you skipped the christmas time OVA and Dragon's Cry didn't you? Well, at least you can watch them now cause we saw that form of hers A HELL of a long time ago animé-wise, longer manga-wise.

Going by tonight's preview, we're going to get a 3-chapter episode next week instead of the usual 2. In fact, if memory serves, we got three chapters at a time for three weeks in a row after those chapters, so there's a chance the anime will do the same. I can imagine that kind of pace working okay for the anime, at least for the portion of the story to come before the final arc.
