Who are "they"? She gets more roles than your average veteran from her generation. Recently played a recurring tournament announcer in the new Hunter x Hunter anime and did a totally awesome job.

I'm a guy but I will say that Sailor Moon does have a bit of nostalgia factor to me. It was part of the toonami block and was aired at the same time as DBZ and Gundam Wing, 2 other shows that I still love to this day. So I'm pretty interested to see how a remake of Sailor Moon does?

Do you guys have any thoughts on who should voice the Sailor Scouts? I think that's what they were called in the English dub, lol it's been a while

Basically some mooks over at Sankaku and other hardass sites like that. Also, I apologize for not being specific. I meant veteran VAs, not her specifically.

You are correct they were called that .
Maybe the original cast will do them. But the chances of that are slim .
For me I think Nana Mizuki will do one and maybe Yukari Tamura.

It's certainly going to be fun speculating the staff make-up for the next few months, as aside from the studio and possibly Mitsuishi and Furuya, it's a blank slate. Hmm... So who among the contemporary VAs might be fits for each "classic" role, hmm?

Can they please get the director for Heartcatch on this though?

Both of them I can see, especially Nana, maybe Kana Hanazawa, Eri Kitamura, as well.

Mars is the question mark. Namely how she will act. I understand her manga, stage, and anime personalities were all quite different.

For Mars, her manga and live action personalities were close enough to be essentially the same character, so they'll probably go with that one.

Venus however...

Anyone know what animation studio is doing the remake?

Any ideas on what studio would do a great job with it?

It'll be Toei. I'm 99% certain they still own all the rights.

I don't know much about the manga or live action Venus, but the anime version of Mina seemed to mentally degrade as the series continued. It made it funny though.

Ithekro: This is true. Indeed, it was like, the longer the series went, the more Mina's personality started to turn into Usagi's from the start of the TV series. And yes, it did make things funny, but I kind of like the more serious version from the live-action show.

My sister was the HUGE Sailor Moon fan. Everytime the dub came on, she had to be there post haste. I think I remember Mercury was the one they gave an accent right?

Can't help there, I grew up with the Filipino dub, and I never got into the English dub even when it became available later.

Speaking bluntly, the manga inner senshi were rather forgettable. The extra characterization that both the anime and live action counterparts got was very fortunate. The only really memorable manga Mina part comes from that one sidestory where Diana falls in love with a guy, and she teases Artemis about it. What Usagi and Mamoru's characters lost from the adaptation, the others gained massively.

Anime Mina may have been a loon, but she was so very fun. Amazing Nurse Minako, anyone?

Well there is always Junichi Sato.

I am not that familiar with the SM anime only watched a few episodes. I have seen many people say they like the Ikuhara episodes more than Sato's but in my opinion Sato has directed the very best shoujo magical girl series ever: Princess Tutu and because of that I would love to see what he could do with an adaption that is closer to the manga.

However I have a feeling that like Ikuhara said there are going to get someone completely new on the project.

Or you could argue that she became more like her original version in Codename Sailor V. But then, Usagi started as an expy of Sailor V which meant Mina had to change when she entered the main series. God, this is one confusing franchise.
