Speaking of spoilers...

I was reading the Metanorn’s SAO Episode 8 review, Foshizzle mentioned “Did anyone else notice they have used just about every scene from the opening video?” so I wondered did they put in hints on that for episode 9? It seems the animation goes by fast enough that people haven’t noticed it, but yeah.

That's still Elucidator, it's not Dark Repulser at all. Also, if they had shown dual wielding then Kirito would have used his left hand.

Note that the tips of Elucidator and Dark Repulser differ from each other.

To be honest I was looking at the difference in the Hilts, not the tips.

But I see what u mean. Its better to look at the tips :3

It's kind of hard to see, I just assumed that Elucidator started glowing since he started a sword skill.
That hilt could still be Elucidator, it depends on the angle you look at it.

If you're talking about how they'll separate the final battle, to achieve the raging/crying effect they'd have to end the episode right after Asuna dies.

I doubt it though, it'll all probably begin and end in the same episode.

Sorry being so vague about the question, some mods are just too trigger happy. But yes, this is what I meant. And while I kind of think as well it ll be like that. I have the remote hope they will split in 2 to achieve maximum effect.

One can hope right?

It could happen, we'll find out.

I expect the pacing to be:
Previous episode end: The Reveal
1st half: Duel, Asuna dies
2nd half: End of duel, end of SAO.

It just seems like the amount of material after the duel to the end isn't enough to cover an entire episode.

Also, Don't have to worry about mods in this particular thread. (it's spoilers and speculations after all)

I kind of want the entire duel to be like 3/4 of the episode, then the part when Heathcliff takes them to talk to them, then Kirito wakes up it the hospital and checks on Asuna, and it ends there.

Its true the material does not seem to be enough... But still, that part when I first read the light novel, had my eyes wide open. Its was possible to happen, you could have seen it coming, but it was well told and was dramatic enough to make me say... "NOOO"... plus Kirito reaction is well described. And even the chapter ended just there, with the fragments flying of his hands... All I am saying is that it would make it more memorable. And thus the reunion would have more meaning, like when reading it back then.

In any case, just the hopes of a fan that is having a good time with the series... just that.

Honestly this more realistic... and I suspect they're be all naked while talking...

Actually, the novel contain descriptions of what Kayaba's wearing.

Yeah, I doubt there's enough Yaoi Fangirls out there as their target market to justify the anime having Kirito show some skin for that scene

Spoiler for you know..: The deathmatch after the 75th floor boss, between the Paladin and Kirito and what happens afterwards... if done well, like separated in 2 chapters, we will see many raging crying people here. Kind of expecting to be done like that. Well anyway, just wondering about that.
