For better or worse, it's about characters getting themselves into 'situations'.

That said, whatever happens in one book still carries on to another with consquences, sometimes it's not the immedate next volume, but the one after...

And those situations leads the characters to show how are they in desguise leading them to take decisions and clear thei minds. Even the scene in the hospital after the memory destructions counts because it showed how Touma acts in this kind of situations.

Btw, ths thread is not about Mikoto?? This discussion should be in other thread.

well to other people it doesn't count as development. And they still want a more serious one. But for me having a good fight and story is enough.

Wifiriback is right. Get back to Misaka.

Anyone else like her secret childish interests? I actually find them hilarious.

I find it cute and suit her best. Because if all is seems not right their biribiri childish taste makes it right. It's also one of the fan service that keeps me from watching on the anime which I should have drop way before.

Personally, I'm just waiting for Touma to mention it at the wrong time, in his extra special way.

If there were ever a time for her to break out the dual railgun skill, that would probably be the trigger.

The kicker for Biribiri is that she KNOWS they're childish, but doesn't have the capability of ignoring what other people think. The fact that she tires REALLY hard not to appear childish while trying to get what she likes at the same time is one of her cute points.

True.

It makes her a more rounded character to me, having that tension between her liking the girly frilly cute things and how others see her as a role model with an unlimited stock of destruction on tap.

I like her side of liking those girlish stuff but I just don't get her obsession of gekota. I don't find gekota cute at all.

- Well, first off, you're not a girl.

Second: I've seen enough ugly, creepy things that girls find cute (Some girls love Emily the Strange, for example) that it's not really all that weird.

Tsunade666 maybe is talking about the general tastes of girls... also, I don't find Gekota cute, but that bunny strap that Last Order have sure it is.

I think Gekota is cute. Maybe it's like a "meta cute" because it bears a resemblance to things that really are cute. Nonetheless it's cute.

I really don't get it.

And right I'm a guy but even if I'm a girl I just don't quite get it.... well oh well.

I just don't understand girls in general.....

I find it cute the thing about her childish taste like I said before but gekota.....

frog? = cute?

I really don't understand it like that kerokeropy guy frog.

off topic rant..... I wonder how ken deal with this even if his only been playing ero games for a year and even skipping ero scenes.

heh, I know a woman who really likes frogs and thinks they are adorable.

And I don't mean stylized cartoon frogs like Gekota.

The only one I remember who likes frogs is Will Vandom from a comic book called WITCH.

^ But she's not as obsessed as Mikoto, iirc... :P

Gekota... it's not one of the cutest things I've seen but it's not toally weird looking either, so I can't blame Mikoto for liking it so much. It's just a little something to add to one of the quirks Level 5s have (and to see them as everyday people too :P)

Though it makes you wonder, if Mikoto actually didn't care for what other people think when it comes to childish things, maybe Kuroko would stop teasing her and wouldn't care anymore (in fact, she would just let what her Onee-sama wants to do).

Well for the most part the characters who comment on Mikoto's "childish taste" actually don't mean to embarrass her. Mikoto just gets embarrassed easily, hahaha

And again, that's one of the cute character traits she has--trying hard to not act childish is in itself acting childish.

She'll probably kill whoever gives her that lecture, though. ^_^
