Really, what Mashima is thinking. May be an army of Japanese funs attacked him aking return major characters as faster as he can? He is an experienced writer. He MUST understand what a crap he is writing now and that he destroyes his own plot by this chapter.

I really don't see what the big deal is, unless someone wants to explain? So what if they were frozen in time and came back now? This is actually a fairly huge hint. There was the 7 years thing before, and 7 years now... and we find out that Fairy Sphere can freeze you in time for 7 years? I don't see how this destroys anything; on the contrary, it links up some subtle plots fairly nicely.

Were the DS's frozen in time for 7 years before? If so, that indicates a link between Mavis and the dragons. Probably more than that, as Fried's spell prevented anyone older than 80 from leaving during the Laxus arc, and Natsu couldn't leave. This would also probably explain part of the reason as to why Wendy is all grown up in Edolas, but not in Earthland. Although why Natsu and Gadjeel didn't have similar disparate ages, is a kink in that theory.

Anyway, Fairy Tail has thrown a few things at me I didn't quite like, but then again, nothing is perfect. Still seems decent enough to continue reading. Still a bunch of mysteries to untangle.

People saying it's bad comes off to me as people just want a continues flow and instant gratification with the current events, instead of real plot development with Dragons and 7/7/777 and Zeref. Anything but what just happened would have only been another filler arc delaying the real plot which has now finally started after 250 chapters (no offense to those that see other wise though... but I'd just prefer the core plot than a lets rescue the main characters arc when we all know they're indestructible anyways )

The time jump was more to give the enemies a chance to power up than anything else and a way to keep the plot hopefully more focused on the Dragons and/pr Zeref. It could also have given Ivan enough time to build up Raven Tail or that other Dark Guild to become stronger than GH or for Zeref to build his army of worshipers again... Plus I don't get all the bitching about lack of Fodder Tail arc (name for Fairy Tail under Macao on another forum), it would have sucked anyways... FT has always been about being over the top, not down to earth like Fodder tail is. Best to have more Fairy Tail... after all it's not like Wheat was introduced into the plot line, if confused by this statement about wheat ask any fan of Vinland Saga about wheat and they can tell you how amazing wheat really is...

Bisca seems to be about to molest Erza... (win chapter right there)

Gray doesn't seem to like Warren or Max hugging him... wondering now if he's gay or not (been thinking he is since he rejected smacking Juvia's butt )

Levi/Gajeel looks appalled by Jet and Droy's looks... so does Laxus and the rest of the thunder gods btw.

Mavis didn't seem to leave the island with Fairy Tail, that makes her a deus ex mechina and not a new character

and it appears Makarov mumbles something about nakama that gets people to cry at the end of the chapter

Hoping next chapter either Twilight Ogre will spark a guild war with Fairy Tail (shortest arc ever if it happens though ) and causing the council to step in against Fairy Tail or something else just purely ridiculous like Zeref walking into town with an army of worshipers... or maybe him assaulting the council directly (and indirectly freeing Gerard as a result )

From what I can see, the group disappearance is similar with how the dragons disappear. There is a possibility that they are aware of what is going on but they could not do anything and just keep on observing. This is the same thing how Igneel been observing Natsu all the time and yet could not meet him. Whether they age or not, I am not so sure but chances are they will age since they just live in another place just like the dragons.

Probably physically impossible given that chapter 254 didn't officially come out in Japan until a couple days ago, and 255 had to be completed before that considering that Mashima is in New York at the moment.

Possible as well, though it's more likely recognition on his part that he can't remove all the main and secondary characters from the story, and expect the one dimensional characters intended as merely background characters to carry the story for any length of time.

Yeah, the people complaining do seem to either want instant gratification, or to be beaten over the head with each plot point as it comes. A bunch of different ways Mashima could go from a time skip, and the moment we find out that he isn't doing two of the possibilities they start going "then what was the point?"

Q: Why did you deicde to do a 7 year timeskip in the story line?
A: the american fairy tail hasn't gotten to the point exactly so i rather you look forward to that

To be fair, at a convention panel like that, there are likely a number of people that only read the english release of the manga, and/or only follow the anime. Seeing as the time skip just happened in Japan last week, just asking the question is a huge spoiler and kind of a jerk thing to do. Actually answering it at this junction would be a huge spoiler for what's coming up next. So they understandably wish to avoid that.

If that's the case, and he's still telling us to "look forward to it," then he definitely must have something planned. I mean, he'd be a fool if he didn't. And since I've fully vented and repressed my fanboy rage that was never intended to be serious (to be honest, I wanted to gauge whether other people would react the same way), I'm now more eager to delve into this brand-spankin' new arc that was promised to us.

As bad as this is, it is actually a step up for Fairy Tail.

Natsu's recent fights were worse. Up against a fire user, everyone says "he's going to eat the fire", Mashima says "no, he can't this time", we all say "nice try, he's going to", Mashima says "Ha! Tricked you, he is going to!". And then instead of learning his lesson from Gildartz, Natsu completes his transformation into a super-awesome lightning-fire super-saiyan Gary Stu.

Erza's fight was worse. Talk about an insult. She was up against an opponent she couldn't beat and was thinking about using sex appeal to win. And the only reason she did win was because the opponent committed suicide for no reason (refused to use the tree to depower her and win easily because he wanted to use his own strength... but then used the tree anyway as an energy blast lol).

Lucy's uselessness is worse. With the way spirits flit in and out of the world without her help, it's more like she is a powerless girl with spirit friends than that she actually does anything herself.

Compared to that, who cares about a time skip in which the rest of the guild (without Natsu around) turns into a bunch of pathetic spiritless wimps.

Why do I read stuff like this and Bleach... I don't know... I guess it is just the routine of it.
