Slayers - comedy, adventure, action, and magic genre. It has 3 season and a lot of oav and movie.
Yuyuhakusho - its action oriented anime but kinda old.
Ranma1/2 - from the creator of Inuyasha, its another action romance comedy genre.
Vision of Escaflowne- mecha, but its different w/ gundam. Music is very angelic.
New anime
Tsubasa chronicle - CLAMP's latest work.
Angel Heart - currently ongoing. It is comedy, action genre.

thats just a short list. Most of those are comedy/action so it'd be a nice change up to watch after really dramatic romance shows and stuff

Sailor Moon - The Japanese version. 200 episodes, wonderful, eternal love story.
The main couple Usagi and Mamoru, Serena and Darien, have lots of hugs and kisses, get married, have a child and are boyfriend and girlfriend and become husband and wife. Best love story. The anime, manga and live action version. I've watched the anime, read the manga, watched the live action version and have been a fan of the series since 1995. My boyfriend loves teasing me about being a fan still. The love story is wonderful and the main couple, the best couple, are a couple and dating for a long time and have lots of romance.

I love Tuxedo Mask and Tuxedo Kamen.

Fuhsigi Yuugi - Wonderful manga, a fantasy romance.

Fushigi Yugi : The Mysterious Play is how the manga is translated.

Ayashi no Ceres - Great manga. The anime cuts out everything.

Marmalade Boy - Great series.

Kare First Love - Good manga series.

Mars - Manga series, romance and passion.

Kodocha- Nice series.

Kare Kano- Good manga/anime.

"as long as they're good" eh? Sorry to tell you, but everyone has their own tastes so what's good in ones mind may not be in another.

Oh well, either way all of these suggestions are licensed because it's what I can think of off the top of my head:

Elfen Lied (very violent, has nudity, great story, genius timing in events. Perfection for many)

Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo: 2040 (Can't describe off the top of my head, cyberpunk may be the easiest way to describe it?)

Excel Saga (Lots and lots of anime parodies)

Outlaw Star (great action, travel through space, do jobs for cash just to make it by, search for ultimate treasure, wake up an android chick)

Samurai X collection (the very beginning and end of Ruroni Kenshin, why not?)

Dai-Guard (pretty light hearted mech series, what it would really be like fighting in a government endorsed tin can)

Mezzo DSA (it bounces between wacky scenarios, to story, back to wacky, back to story, pretty funny at times)

DNA^2 (Pretty light hearted romance comedy, until the last episodes go "OMGZ SAFE DA WORLD!", but it's enjoyable overall)

Gasaraki (A more realistic mech and military based anime. Beware though that it requires patience being politically driven a lot, and for those that have trouble following may end up hating it. I understood it the first time through, so I didn't think it was that hard.)

Noir (Two female assasins trying to uncover their path, one older one younger, done by Beetrain)

Princess Nine (a sports anime that isn't really about the sports, but drama, plot twists, shockers, not so shockers, and everything inbetween)

Devil Lady (Often thought to be the only Go Nagai worth watching, about evolution and who's the real beast. It also addressed other issues too, and may disturb some towards the end. Overall tastefully done though)

Azumanga Daioh (It's about school life and not. Funny as hell, watch it if you haven't yet)

GiTS: SAC (it's Ghost in the Shell, duh)

FLCL (Craziness)

Neon Genesis (thought to be an anime that really screws with your mind, didn't do much till the end which is probably because the philosiphy presented seems flawed to me)

Chobits (Is it wrong to love your computer, a very funny romantic commedy)

Full Metal Panic! (It's about Mechs, adapting, school life, bad situations, good story, etc)

Full Metal Panic Fummoffu (sp?) (it continues based around Sagara and school life, not meant to really continue the series but revive the humour in it)

Mahou Sensei Negima (10yr old magician teaching an all girl school English course. Hilarity follows)

Hikaru no Go, Yami no Matsuei, Full Metal Alchemist, Azumanga daioh (plotless but hilarious) Weiss Kreuz, YuYu Hauksho, Rurouni Kenshin and Samurai X, and much much more but you'll have to discover them yourself. After all, what fun would it be if you watch everything everyone else says? You have to find what suits you most ^^ k?
