Sometimes I feel like PAW tries too hard to make a "P.A. Works show" in the same way everything KyoAni does passes through their filter. And it's getting worse in recent years. They really only seem to get it right these days when they go totally off-profile, like with Uchouten Kazoku.

If you want something different from PAW this year though (if Sirius doesn't count) then the Macquia film is your best bet. Not a perfect film but it was pretty good and probably the best anime film I've watched this year thus far. And the drama in that isn't some dumbass teen melodrama romance crap. |

Yeah, an "I'm Sorry" and running away is pretty clear by rejection standards .
I guess if any good came out of it it's that Hitomi's mulling over things seemingly led her to realize her feelings for Yuito so she could properly reject Sho. Now I guess the only question is where they go from there, although it looks like we'll have to resolve Asagi's love life first... The ever-unflappable Yuito making a mistake on the register after learning about Hitomi and Sho together . I loved the reaction to the class on Hitomi's love problems. The girls wanted in on the gossip and the boys were so crestfallen . I don't know if Sho really needed that big yelling scene. I can understand needing catharsis after a rejection but I don't feel like his rejection, which he had probably already realized by then, really needed that . I thought Hitomi had already realized Asagi liked Sho from their conversation, but I guess she just ran to Asagi because she thought Asagi would be happy she gave a definitive answer to the person who confessed to her (not realizing it was also the object of Asagi's affection) .

I don't usually chime in on comments like that, but in this case I'll make an exception. There was absolutely nothing about this week's storyline that couldn't have been done on any other show. You'd think they could have given it some kind of twist that was unique to these characters.

Aw man a PA Works love shape thingy. I noticed with like one exception nobody ever finds true love in their shows or at least any without collateral damage. It doesn't Asagi already has the look of that girl that ultimately gets ignored.
We'll see if they subvert this.

That was a definite improvement over last week's episode. The romance based drama was resolved peacefully thanks to Asagi calming down and being reasonable. After that, magic was the focus of the episode, and we finally got a look at Hitomi's past. More importantly, Aoi got a look. Now we know why Hitomi hates magic. I'm curious about the real reason her mom left, because surely somebody raised by Kohaku couldn't be so petty she would abandon her own daughter for being more gifted than her. You have to wonder why Kohaku didn't tell her the reason then.

So, the plot came knocking. Looks like Hitomi will have to go back to the future after all. Given how time magic works, Yuito can't just follow her there either, but I guess there's always cold sleep magic!
At this point I'm also pretty sure Hitomi's grandpa is the glasses guy. He's the only guy in the series who's had meaningful interactions with Kohaku.

Happiness is the key to getting the colors back, apparently. Although it only worked temporarily once again. Next week is the final episode already, doesn't feel like much has happened. Still better than Glasslip, at least.

I don't think that's enough to conclude he isn't her grandpa. In fact, I'm still pretty sure he is. I kind of got the vibe she was happy to find out he had been helping Kohaku. She was comfortable talking to him too, but Hitomi has made a lot of progress lately so that may not mean much.
