Li Mu is a true politician while Lu BuWei is a merchant turned politician. Im sure Li Mu looks at the big picture while Lu BuWei is more interested in his personal gains.

Li Mu could become his new mentor. They both have a female warrior as a partner so they have something in common.

Of course, that is also assuming that Xin will agree to learn under the person responsible for Wang Yi's death. Now, if Li Mu defects over to Zheng's side, then maybe that could change.

Nice to see Bi again, good thing he gave him some info. So Xin has met his first obstacle. He really was outclassed in many ways. Who would have though he'd be up against some one from the Wang family. Looks like he'll be meeting Meng Wu's other son next week. He's got a lot of work to do if he can become a full general in 5 years.

random: i thought Wang Ben/Ouhen's voice actor was the voice actor of L-Elf from Vavlerave when he started speaking. looks like i was wrong lol. probably because both of them have a similar voice when they are speaking in an arrogant tone.

No one belittles Wang Qi and gets away with it. I hope that Xin will put Wang Ben in his place soon. The intro makes it look like the 3 major groups will work together, but I'll only be okay with it if they end up serving under Xin.

Btw, is Bi a full-fledged general? Or is he more of a 1000-men general?

The fact that Wang Qi is the most famous general in the kingdom pretty much directly contradicts the point he tried to make about "more noble = better." He said it himself, Wang Qi came from a cadet branch...

Yeah I was thinking about the intro/ending animations too when I watched this episode. I wonder if it will be a begrudging "we're all on the same team so better work together" type situation or if they actually become friendly.

I was wondering about Bi too. Doesn't he work directly for Changwenjun? His position is kind of vague. Somewhere in between court official and military official.

...Damn I love this show. It's definitely the one I look forward to the most each week.

Bi is a Military official, Changwenjun is a court official. It was mention earlier

If Xin combines three 300-men units, wouldn't he almost accomplish a 1000-men general status? I'm wondering if he is headed towards that way in the story, combining the other units?

Xin is Li Xin. It wasn't mentioned in the anime i think but was mentioned several times in the manga: 1) the first chapter of the manga when the soldiers was calling out his name,2) when Fei Xin Force was formed and 3) in the official guidebook written by the author himself.
Wang Jian is Wang Ben's father and will appear soon in the anime.
He Liao Diao is an original character as stated in the official guidebook too.
Zhao Gao briefly appeared in the first episode of Season 2 together with the Queen Dowager(Zhao Ji, Zheng's mother).

Thanks, magax! That puts things in perspective a little bit. Now I have faith that Xin will never be at Li Mu's level, which is more realistic.

Of course, the manga could somehow change that, and Xin ends up being more amazing in some way. Sometimes the best strategy in the world cannot defeat an unstoppable force.

They are probably going to tweak history a bit if they want Xin to come out a winner.

If Xin cant beat Li Mu, i guess he can at least beat Pang Nuan...but he will need to level up his skills much much more before he can do that.

That is another reason why Piao's death was so tragic. If he was alive, he could have the potential to rival Li Mu.
