I realize why Kubo wrote it that way. It's to show her unbreakable good nature. She won't let someone suffer, no matter what they've done to her, because her heart is too pure for that.

Blah blah blah. Whatever. She's f'ing dumb to be healing anyone from the enemy side, especially when they can bounce back and kill/hurt/maim her friends.

But that's just my jaded opinion on it.

Well it's a shonen so it's bound to have horribly idealistic characters that get away with it in the end, so I think hating Orihime because of that is a little too harsh.

It's kind of like when Ichigo didn't want to win against Ulq the way he did, he would have allowed his arm to be severed just to make him feel better at the risk of his friends safety.

I don't believe Orihime is dumb but Kubo took her good nature too far. The idea that you would heal your enemy and worse still a person who has consistently tried to kill you is a kiddy idea to me.

Kenshin in Samurai X didn't want anyone killed but at least he was fighting the bad guys. Orihime is openly helping the bad guys win without opposing them in the slightest way.

Great way to keep the fighting up. Heal the bad guys and the good guys. The girl is obviously an idiot or a sadist. Possibly both considering the way she inflicts pain on the viewers along with her KK spam.

A pretty unattached character. They try to make her out as useful but fail horribly.

Anyways, her main role is protection and healing. Both are very undermined and useless in this series to begin with. Only raw force matters and healing is a very trivial issue. Kubo makes it look like wounds matter only when he feels like it.
Also, the gang at HM had Nel as a healer and the captains that FKT have the healing captain. So Orihime was clearly there to aid the baddies. Not to mention, all this trouble happened for her in the first place.

Are you kidding me, Ishida and Orihime both sound horrid in the dub. I watch some dubs and subs of animes, so I'm not biased by any means, but god damn I can't stand the Bleach dub.

the usual explanation for that inconsistency is that unohana is strong enough to fight the bad guys she heals. of course there is no actual proof of that.. so yeah...

So Official Data Books no longer count as proof? Well it may not be hard evidence but it is something. Besides we've only seen her heal one stupid ass loser with an afro. Orihime clearly isn't beyond healing Big Bad's but we don't know if Unohana is.

I don't mind her dub, it's just when her dub is doing Orihime.... Kind of like when Kari Whalgren did Aurica, just annoying on a varying degree.

I prefer seiyuu/japanese voice most of the time rather then the dubs. But I like dubs too. David Vincent being one of my favorites.

Grimmjow was perfect for him in my opinion.

Now on the topic...

Orihime is annoying. I won't even vote of whether or not I actually like her or hate her. There is still time for her to redeem herself at least somewhat, so I'll wait until then.

....Fine chance in hell she will be less annoying though.


I think the Unohana and Orihime thing is completely dependent on their personalities and how useful they actually are. So Unohana is probably more favorable, in my opinion at least.

she (and her squad) healed ichigo's team way back when they were the 'evil ryoka' and suspected of murdering a captain. it was also heavily implied that she healed renji after he got owned by byakuya.
sure they ended up on the same side in the end, but they were enemies then.
