If I'm not mistaken - these are Hanekawa Tsubasa and Kanbaru Suruga. No cameos from his other novels here. As far as I know - there are some references to Zaregoto in his novels, but not in the anime (even if there are - they are just not so obvious).

Sorry; dynamic content not loaded. Reload?

I put together one recently, and I was thinking about asking to make a thread for it. I just need to double check the data and also try to figure out a way to clean the table up to make it more presentable. There is also the concern with how to put a table in forums, but I pretty much figured out what I want to do with that.

How would one even begin to mentally prepare themselves to tackle this series? And here I thought steins;gate was a headache.

Just watch it in airing order. Everything makes sense once it gets connected.

To be honest the series kind of intimidates me especially when you consider the dialogue, how should deal with Monogatari's dialogue? The dialogue seems to into self indulgent territory.

Do the novels ever explain well why Araragi chose Senjougahara over Hanekawa? For some reason Araragi negates having feelings for Hanekawa in the prequel novels like if he only had a hero complex but Kizumonogatari gave them so much focus. Was it just puberty or something? Maybe he was attracted more by Senjougahara for being more honest with her feelings?

There are a lot of reasons, but one of the most important ones is that Hitagi is simply a better fit for him because she grounds him in normal human life in a way that Hanekawa simply couldn't have done. Araragi needs someone to hold him back otherwise he would completely drown himself in his ideals.

There's also the fact that he puts Hanekawa on an insane pedestal, I don't think he could even imagine having a relationship with someone he thinks of in that way.

This is just a rumor I heard in reddit but they say Monogatari, (most importantly Bakemonogatari) was inspired by Clamp's xxxHolic as it mixes supernatural elements with psychology through a shop (Oshino, Yuko) and the teenager (Ararargi, Watanuki). Is it true? Another factor that seems possible is that Nisio Isin also wrote a xxxHolic novel where Watanuki's characterization felt more like Araragi. While Watanuki doesn't have such a big hero complex, he has a tendency to degrade himself for the sake of others. This is also a major plotpoint as Syaoran from Tsubasa has a similar attitutde.
