I kind of wish this show had gotten an hourlong premiere, because the second episode had just about everything that was missing in the first one. Granted, it's not as exciting as Initial D, since the cars aren't all racing at the same time, but it still pumps me up to watch a car attack corners with abandon while some eurobeat plays in the background. Also, great to hear Takehito Koyasu again as the man, the legend, "Ryo".

That was a considerable improvement, though Overtake is still clearly the better show for me.

Both OP and ED handled by i☆Ris members under their solo singles.

Old stuff with new skin, but I enjoyed it. Racing stories definitely feels better in anime form than manga even if they take liberties, for me at least. If we're seeing Ryosuke, maybe we'll be seeing Keisuke as well. The question is, will we see Takumi now that he's the narrator?

So the "couple" at the restaurant were actually brother and sister who were also part of the God 15 in this race. Was the girl slip streaming her own brother?

Also, didn't know they could warm up or cool down individual tires. Is that a real world mechanism (other than driving like Kanata did) or just MF Ghost fiction?

EDIT: Her brother was 2 spots ahead of her so maybe she settled in behind the car in front before an opportunity comes.

Ill try to answer as best as i can but i could be wrong

(and its kinda quickly written)

first up, both AMG and him could have warmed up the tyres before start.
when they were driving up to their place or when they had the rolling start, they could have weaved and did acceleration and then braking to heat up the tyres and their brakes
they would have lost heat when standing still but when driving again they could have done much more.
(or even use tyre warmers at start, they all seem to be rich anyway xd )

As far as i know myself i have no idea how you could tell if one tyre individual is colder than the other. In pairs( front or back) its possible since you can feel how good they grip but individual no clue i doubt it.

There's something modestly endearing about how goofy the character interactions in MF Ghost are. But boy, those character designs...

It's funny, character designs are rarely such a big deal to me as to splat my enjoyment, but for whatever reason I just can't stand these. It's like the two auto racing anime this season got the total polar opposites with character design.

The character design, and some of the actual characters, dates back to Initial D, they can't really change it.

It would be like changing artists between Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z.
