I really liked this episode despite it being mainly all dialogue. I'm also really proud of Mahiro, handling it so well, and when he got teary I just wanted to give him a big hug.
Despite my distaste for Hakaze's love/obsession with Yoshino, I felt bad for her and Mahiro, for the fact that they understand and owned up to having their feelings unrequited. Their scene also brought out a little bit of their character's maturity. Spoiler:

Oh gawd. Why do I get the feeling that something goes completely awry, and Hakaze's going to the past in her attempt to discover Aika's killer inadvertently results in her directly killing Aika, and she's the actual "murderer"?
I use the word "murderer" with some trepidation, as the preview made it seem like Aika knew Hakaze, and with all the other seeming coincidental knowledge/wisdom Aika has spouted through flashbacks throughout this series, I wouldn't be surprised if Aika's "murder" ultimately stems from Aika herself, ie: she convinces Hakaze there's a very compelling reason she needs to "murder" her. That said, Tempest is pretty good at building things up and then not climaxing in a fantastic fashion, so perhaps all my cynical years of anime watching are leading me astray in this premonition of how Aika's death actually played out. And, just as I thought, Tempest stays true to form in how it dealt with Yoshino and Mahiro this episode.

Mahiro really must have thought a lot to have the reconciliation gone that smooth. Though them brawling would have been out of place with the way their relationship has been shown up til now. Finally we get more Aika in a big way next week. Can't wait to see how her an Hakaze interact. Lol Samon's reaction again was priceless.

So Hakaze going back in time to investigate Aika's death, well if anyone can do it she can. Though that announcement gave me some feelings of trepidation, it just leaves so many things that can go wrong, ....like Hakaze turning out to be the killer herself. OTH that preview were they passed each other on the street ...seems there really is something more to Aika than a normal teenage girl.
anyway enjoyable episode and waiting again for next weeks continuation. >.<

I was as surprised as the characters that the meeting went smoothly between Yoshino and Mahiro. I guess he's had a lot of time to think though. Understanding his own feelings better and frankly knowing it's not his place to be angry about who Aika dated. He never did anything in the first place. Never really expressed his feelings or even understood them before she died. Plus there isn't any doubt how much Yoshino matters to him as a friend.
Most hilarious part as usual was Samon. His whole life has been screwed up by teenagers. He just needs to accept that he is in control of nothing . Getting to see Aika in a non-flashback setting should be interesting. Time to test the theories on her and find out the identity of her killer.

Aika can still push Yoshino into action indirectly of course (in fact, he is still doing everything for her sake right now), but there can be only one person with the actual powers of the Mage of Exodus. |

A poll would be interesting, but in lieu of that, put me down for Hakaze being the killer of Aki (and, I don't mean in a passive "because the Tree of Genesis" way; I mean she'll end up literally killing her ). It would fit the direction this story has taken so beautifully.

The next episode should be big. Will confirm so much. Either Aika is the actual villain who intentionally has put all these events in motion or she really is the victim who has been seen so much in flashbacks throughout the series. I've kind of gone back and forth on what the truth really is on this point.

Leave it to Yoshino to have the 2 most powerful women in the world to fall in love with him and fight over him.
So much revelation in this episode, and a lot of what I have guessed is turning true. It does end in a cliffhanger that makes me feel like I should have waited another week and watch both episodes together. Now, how will Aika die? I have my guesses, but I'll wait and see what happens.
