Well, that guy couldn't have made it clearer the nice old man is actually the most evil bastard on Earth. It was so heavy-handed I'm actually wondering if the twist is going to be that he's actually a good guy. Did Koushi even say a single word while the fire hunter was ranting about his benefactor? You'd think he would have asked him some questions.

I was surprised they didn't immediately search for water to drink. They'd been out to sea for a few days, right? Not one of them mentioned being hungry or dehydrated after they reached shore.
I'm assuming Koushi's master is neither as well-intentioned as we were first lead to believe nor as evil as the fire hunter describes him here. I think Koushi might have asked the hunter more questions, but they turned their attention to the hunt and everything exploded.

Seems the big benefactor guy was[obv] was bad news. Roroku putting doubts in Koushi's head about who he's working for will hopefully start to open his eyes a bit. But I do get that Okita(whatever his name is) technically is holding Koushi's sister as a open hostage.
Any idea why the two girls were crying in that one scene? I'm surprised no one in the capital were raising a hand at the spider boy. Sure, he's just a boy, but I thought they were considered bad news by the populous. BTW, that boy sure does look like Tenchi light hawk wings ![]()

And they met.
We got to know the relationship between father and son, not surprising if he was a roaming hunter. Maybe he was never there and since he died and didn't come back he thought he just left them. Koushi knows the true now. |

a lot of info in this chapter, treefolk are human experiment, we met a god and the flickering flame is a satellite?
touko got the sickle but had to left kanata, it was sad. I really thought koushi would leave kanate with her when he let her have the sickle. |

It's a "science so advanced it looks like magic" setting.

Does anyone know how long this season is supposed to run? Everywhere I look says nine episodes, but that's also the number of completed installments. Episode nine didn't seem conclusive in any way, so I can't seems unlikely the season has come to a close. The story is just now geting underway. Seems like at least two cours to me; hope WOWOW agrees.
I've grown more involved with this story once it moved to the capital. I didn't understand the second cannon shot. Did it destroy that industrial structure? Was it abandoned?

Pretty much everything about this show sucked. The animation, the story, the characters... its only saving grace was that its setting was interesting. Nowhere near enough for me to come back for S2 though.

And finally the rumours I heard were confirmed.
Their pace adaption was 5 episodes per book. I heard the books were 800 pages... That is absurd...that makes even Seiji Kishi super-compressions look tame in comparison... Hopefully it makes people buy the books, because this compromised far too much in anime form... Last time I give any interest to anything Oshii is involved in. Had it. Lost it...
