So it's the series gonna feel darker now? I hope it touches the dark things season 1 touched unlike the mess that was Valvrave where that longhaired girl who was sexually assaulted basically became an extra who was used as a plotdevice by the villains.

The entire 1st (0?) chapter of Vanadis Heart was shared on the Gundam Ace twitter: https://twitter.com/gundam_ace1/stat...62213355134982
It basically covers the contents of the Prologue verbatim and it seems the story proper starts next chapter. It takes place in Ad Astra 106 (so 5 years after the Prologue) and follows an ex-Vanadis witch and doctor Vilda Miren, who travels the Earth in a trailer truck hiding the Gundam Lfrith Jiu alongside her assistant Kiyu Lavot (who also doubles as the Lfrith pilot). In other words, if you wondered where Ur & Thorn came from...

Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury Anime Inspires New Aerial Potato Chip Flavor
Who knew Aerial liked sour cream and onions? There's an Asian market about ten minutes from my workplace. I'll have to look for them. |

Carol and Tuesday was far more engaging, and so were they. The rose-bride-duels schtick fit with the fairytale atmosphere of Utena, but only lends real robot sci-fi a general air of fictitiousness and improbability (Mark Twain). Adding stupidity from the past to the future isn't the most imaginative or worthwhile kind of sci-fi, as many writers in anime and beyond could stand to hear.
The way that Suletta always acted despite her shrinking violet character was actually rather endearing, but the actual shrinking violet business got stale in about ten minutes. A character with so little background and personal goals is harder to engage with than C&T, also. Miorine, the rose bride at the centre of the improbability, for this reason wasn't believable, consequently wasn't sympathetic and therefore was put especially at a disadvantage by her unlikable personality. In short, it's going to take more than a couple of (probably not) lesbians to make me watch a show or like it. I had some hopes, so it's a shame. |
