In This Corner of the World Manga Gets Live-Action TV Series This Summer
This year's seventh issue of Futabasha's Weekly Manga Action magazine revealed on Tuesday that Fumiyo Kouno's In This Corner of the World (Kono Sekai no Katasumi ni) manga is inspiring a live-action television series adaptation this summer. The magazine will reveal more information about the upcoming series at a later date.
In a comment in the magazine, Kouno noted that she is looking forward to the parts of the manga that can only be adapted in live-action.

On August 5 in 2011, a 144-minute TV drama special based on the manga was aired on Ninon TV and its affiliates. Keiko Kitagawa (Rei Hino/Sailor Mars in the live-action Sailor Moon TV drama)
starred as the protagonist Suzu.

The manga author Kouno says, "I think a serial drama is a very close visualization to a serial manga.
I am excited to see elements that can be possible in live-action. I want to watch over Suzu-san's life
every week, laughing and crying together with you."
