I also agree on this, it just doesn't feel as if things are going to end soon. As a matter of fact this chapter (IMHO) feels like the start of a long development between Akko and Mari.

Agree that they haven't had enough intimacy yet to understand more about each other. They should have at least some moments lying around hugging and flirting each other, then share to each other one' own thought on such and such issues.

More drama and we haven't even reached up to the "family and society's acceptance" yet. I will be happy to see Girl Friends does not end soon.

Not the most exciting of prospects, but according to the "yuri_amagasa" blog (the blog is NSFW so I'm not linking it), looks like a drama CD of Girl Friends has been confirmed. Here's the post:

神の様に素晴らしいこの作品をメディア化すること自体そもそも難しい話だと思うし、原作と全く同じものは全然期待してないんですが、新しい形で「GIRL FRIENDS」の世界を再構築して、また新しいファンが増えることを想像すると、今から本当に楽しみですね。
個人的にはおまけトラックでみるく先生のコメントとか入らないか気になります(笑)。

I've jumped onto this ship late in the piece, but not too late. And all I can say is...wow...this is a superior read. Milk Morinaga is brilliant - she creates longing and anguish so well. She draws characters' bodies really sensually/cutesy as required. She keeps a balance on the drama so it doesn't get out of proportion. She's created two leads that are keeping it real, believable and you want them to be together. Their flaws are tolerable and define them as much as their strengths. The scenario is handled with relative maturity and taste. Those kisses are just beautiful to look at. There's a nice assortment of clothes that they wear. This is just spellbinding - I love it so much. ^^

Among the yuri manga, this is easily one of my favorite. It's as everything Last Sinner mentioned above. Everything feel balanced, not too much, not loo lacking.

At least she gets to hang out with Akko the following Saturday. - And obviously you know what girls do on a Saturday....shopping!!! - insert fashion show montage -.....which ends with them both trying out bikinis......which in turn Akko grabbed Mari from behind and started to untie the sash that's holding Mari's bikini up with her mouth. And then Mari turned around and got closer towards Akko, and the two started to make out with each other as Mari loosened Akko's bikini as well........
