On a more serious note, do bear in mind that women in traditional Japanese Royalty are trained in the arts of combat, namely Naginata-Jutsu, the art of the Japanese Halberd.

Meh, it could go in a number of ways. They don't have to have it made entirely clear it's Kallen right now. They could just give little scenes here and there of them becoming closer and closer with each passing episode in conjunction with the main plot. They could possibly even work this into the Geass plotline when we get to it. Maybe she'll end up saving him from the Geass or something.

C.C. could possibly have feelings for Lelouch, but nothing will likely come of it. Being alive for so long may very likely have destroyed any chance she could ever have had in a relationship with someone. Maybe her feelings will show if she were to sacrifice herself for Lelouch's sake or something.

There's another way to look at this. Since this is not a romance show, if they burn through alot of Kallen scenes in the coming episodes rather then spread them out over time then it means that they could just be getting them out of the way for C.C's scenes in the last half.

That would mean that we would have to wrap Kallen up soon enough and then move onto C.C. by 14. Not very likely to happen and it might be just a little late for her at that point.

Kallen was originally the most popular character after all, but as C.C. got more time she decreased in popularity but always stayed in the top. Now that Kallen has become so important, she'll probably become more important.

I'm not sure if Taniguchi cares what pairing fans want either.
