Wow, that is what you call a triple play, not only that poor girl was lied to, he wasnt qualified at all but she gets the black butterfly as well

I would say poor girl but she have a very bad taste in choosing b/f. Also Koyuki is Toru Natural Enemy.

Her association with him caused this to happen. Koyuki is close to him too, so the same violence can happen to her, just because she talks to an Iris Zero.

By the way, my original statement was entirely speculation and can very well be wrong at this point.

Chapter 10 has a wonderful setup to the arc. Three foreboding signs seen by three different people. Very chilling.

Maybe even four. If Kuga isn't lying about her Iris, then she can already tell that guy isn't sincere.

She is very aware that he doesn't have any good emotions for her, but sometimes you just can't choose the people you fall in love with.

She's also probably envious of Toru and Koyuki's situation.

Apparently his iris is the ability to see direction of romance or affection. I'm guessing he can't see it when it's pointed at him since the authors mentioned something like this.

Indeed. It looks like this won't be as simple as the other problems he's dealt with(not that those were really "simple"), yet I can't wait to see how all of this unfolds.

Well... the arrows above somebody means that that person is in love with you. He should be able to clearly see the arrow there. The only thing he can't see is whether he likes her.

It actually should be simple. If Toru can place himself in the position of others, this entire situation will be very simple.

The problem is that emotions and relationships are complex. Toru has no experience with love, and emotions do not necessarily dictate a person's actions. Kuga isn't like that girl in Hijiri's past, who was acting on pure jealousy.

Why? She causing her own heartache. She knows the guy is lying, but she doesn't care. There's a cause behind that I suppose, but that would be spoiling future chapters. Also I don't buy her cutesy act one bit...

I wouldn't go so far as to say "impossible". But I suppose it's possible for her not to know. Whether he was lying or not, the guy must have been nervous when he confessed. And relieved when she said yes. (Especially since it's starting to look like he was blackmailed into it...) But how could she miss he wasn't happy?

Kuga only sees emotions, not what causes people to feel that way. ch11 proved how Kuga could misintepret a person's emotions.


I really hope he isn't pulling the "I like her, but I'm not good enough for her so I hope she'll be happy with somebody else" trope.
