But that epilogue took me by surprise. I did not see that coming... Anybody but her...

Well, her being desilusional i s nothing new. That said I was surprised too.

Anyway translation for some nice pace. Four chapters in three days is not something you see often.

Those are some fast translations. If this continues, I might be able to read the entirety of Volume 10 by this weekend, which is really nice. Thanks for your hard work...

Anyways, why are you doing this, Michiru? You're killing me here...

Well, the last volume has been translated. And so, the story of Hikaru has finally ended.

Personally, I'm quite new to the whole "Light/Web Novel" field, and only started reading them last year. Actually, Hikaru was the 3rd title that I've read. And I say, it certainly is one of my favorites among the things I've read so far.

What I like about the ending is that it ended in a way that I liked. And it was fun seeing how the characters develop and interact with each other. The stories from the first volume until the last were very entertaining and it always leaves me wanting more after reading the author afterwords.

Like any good story, it's sad to see this one end. I would really miss Koremitsu and co, but I feel that it was concluded quite well.

Now we need some sort of "When Hikaru was on Earth - After Story", where we get to see them grown up or something (oh wait, there's already an after-story, but that's just too short). Or doujins, yeah, that could work as well...

Or you know... an anime adaption...

Usually, the anime adaptation is "inferior" to the original media since they have to budget the scenes to 12-episode long anime. And you can see a lot of compromises (depending on the producers) which could negatively affect the view of the certain part of viewership that did read the LN.

Though I would really welcome an anime adaptation, but I'm feeling anxious as it may not portray the great story as told by the LN. (I still shake my head over the Taimadou anime adaptation)

I's day focus on the manga first, then probably an anime later on would be plausible.

Finished the entire series yesterday as I had this on-hold at around volume 7 for months. Honestly, I liked the ending mostly Koremitsu he ended up with the girl that would of been the obvious choice. I kinda feel bad for Aoi though since her feelings are also genuine by the time she really got to know Koremitsu. Hikaru also really changed the way Koremitsu interacted with girls as well, kind of felt like a spiritual journey for him I guess.

As for an anime adaptation...idk, it would feel rushed. At least a 2 cour would be best to at least give each volume (girl of the volume) 2-3 episodes. And because of the melancholic nature and background storytelling, they'd have to find a suitable music composer. (maybe the one who worked on Hai to Grimgar?). I wouldn't expect an anime to announced any time soon or yet.

I'm thinking the best way to showcase each volume, would be to do it 2 volumes per cour. But that would give us about 60 episodes and I don't know if any studio would be willing to do that for a light novel.

Hmmmm... looks like this thread is dead. Nevermind, I just want to leave my appreciation for the story here.
So I finished this series two days ago after reading whole in few days (about 1 volume per day). This series made me want to read light novels again, as lately I didn't have the motivation to read LNs anymore. So the fact that I finished this series about 10 days after I started them speaks something about how much I enjoyed them.
For me personally this was a truly good story and I liked how it flowed and in the end wrapped everything up. I was a bit saddened when it ended (as with every good story) but was also left with a feeling of chatarsis and satisfaction. I won't comment anything on story and characters itself as I probably can't write a coherent comment about that, but let's say that I glad with whom Koremitsu ended up (not that it matterd much for me as I liked most of the characters and wasn't particulary shipping Koremitsu with any of girls).
In the end I would like to give my sinciere thanks to the author and the translator for giving me this wonderful series I'll deffinitely return to sometime in future.

Just have finished this LN yesterday and somehow it's hard for me to see what is the role of Aoi in this story beside the starter? The other girls somehow have their own part on Koremitsu development, but I can't graps what is Aoi doing for him, anyone can explain it to me? (sorry for the bad english by the way)

Aoi opened Koremitsu eyes to girls charm, she also made him realize he can't indiscriminately wow protection them if he can't take responsibility for his it to the end.

That said I don't think Hikaru is story about Koremitsu and his "harem". I would say she is protagonist of her own story and that her development is as important as that of Koremitsu or Hikaru.
