Temptest and Sniper's Theme are both from Second GIG. Snyper (as it appeared in the credits for 2nd GIG) did play in the series, but it was also used for the closing theme when it was reaired on television. One thing that I noticed is that I don't ever recall hearing Aramaki's theme... or the music from when they hacked up the cable after the virus infiltration.

Well, I have the booklet, and here's an interpretation of part of the opening stanza that I've been tweaking. Still not metaphorical enough for me, but it'll do for now::

i really like the songs "replica" "date of rebirth" and "take a little hand"
it's nice to hear youko kanno singing a whole song like that (as opposed to where she's normally just one of several voices) and "sniper's theme" is still great |

Heartsdales
Mr. Prophet, The hip-hop segment of "Player" was not done by Origa (thank god) it was done by a Japanese hip-hop group called "Heartsdales". I personaly think it takes away from the song the song..... Both "Player" and "Date of Rebirth" are cool, but a bit repetitive. Oh well...the movie is awesome.
And lommm, Yoko Kanno doesn't sing. She just writes songs. Date of Rebirth was sung by Origa, "Replica" by Ilaria Graziano and "Take a Little Hand" by Gabriela Robin. Last edited by haxxploits; 2006-12-05 at 00:01. |

The OST for this is great. The 2 Origa songs are a welcome addition and lets face it, Ms. Kanno can't do bad music. She might miss the mark here and there but her music is always enjoyable.
One complaint though. There's at least 1 music missing in the OST, a different version of "Zero Signal" that is heard just before Motoko breaks in to the lab where she stumbles on Batou. I managed to get it by extracting the audio track from the DVD menu where it serves as BGM. Also a CD quality of "player" in TV size would be nice. And would it kill them to put the Heartsdales riff lyrics in there? Still, one hell of a great addition to the GITS and Yoko Kanno music collections. |

Yoko Kanno = Gabriela Robin?
This is just a rumor sparked by the lack of information on Gabriela Robin. It is true that there is no solid evidence to proove that she is NOT Yoko Kanno, just as there is no solid evidence to prove that she is. Read more about it here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gabriela_Robin
