I really hope the directors and the writers for the anime will be able to sufficiently make a coherent, yet enjoyable, series from the source material. If episode one is any indication, then we are in trouble.

However, I hope to see some better pacing and actual story development/explaination next episode instead of throwing everything everywhere.

The series has potential, so we will have to see.

Some details (from the anime thread in the 2ch):

1) In the sign-frame (nobody translated this term yet, I think...) of Adele when she accelerated there was this text under the word 加速 (Acceleration):

It looks like it was a reference to the second paragraph of the prologue of the Gospel of John.

2) When Tenzou (ninja) said "Style: Ninja Forcer, Ten(ry" it had this meaning:

Style = It's obvious, but is the fight style that one excels the most. It's divided based on the range and the type of weapon:

Range = Close range (フォーサー：Forcer); Long range (ガンナー：Gunner); All range (マスター：Master)

Type of weapon = Hand-to-hand combat [格闘師] (クリティカル：Critical); Martial Arts [武術師] (ストライク：Strike); Artificial Body [義体師] (スチール：Steel); Thaumatargy??? [神術師] (エナジー：Energy); Magic [魔術師] (マギノ：Magi). Oh and about the ninja: Ninjutsu [忍術師] (忍術：Ninja).

The same for Gacchan and Nai-chan (yuri couple): "Black and White Magi Gunners".

Okay just watched this with .... and I have to say if you don't know jack about the Light Novel (like myself) you're going to be really really confused.

I mean it's a great episode but even after reading the explanation post above I'm still a little dumb funded by all this. I will keep watching the series it's just my mind feels a bit overwhelmed.

What I did like the animation and character attacks and weapons they were all good...

Sunrise not only did Dragonaut but also Mai Otome/Hime which was also very girl-loaded. Guess they need a break from time to time from drawing so much mecha and ugly germanish pilots! But, hey, they managed to put amazing mecha even in here, so no complains! And according to PVs, even mechas can have bouncing breast

. Speaking of which, maybe is for all that bouncing around that some people cant grasp the complexity of slimes being split in half for bad mouthed girls. Or maybe is because bad mouthed girls and badass (or should I say goodass?) teachers arent the random dumb lolis they where expecting for?

So going for some *serious* stuff, It is me or from the cover of LN Vol 2, Masazumi Honda was the one who received the flat treatment in her anime version?

The only thing I cant manage to grasp yet from the whole thread explanations was the pocket dimension thingie, but that just a minor detail in the huge amount of info and good laughs i collected from here!

about event before op? mikawa? horizon? narration at the end?
I think this ep just showed event, opening, some detail about how's the story goes, the training, toori's plan with horizon, narrator narrating about bg story/synopsis on the end, showing someone passed out on the street.

It's not that it's a bad explanation because it dose help some it's just that I feel that something is a bit off about the anime's attempt to adapt them. Like they were footnotes to be slipped in during this massive P.E. class battle...

ooh just some details? I thought what you mean by "really really confused" is about plot like some of member here have complained.

hm.. not a novel reader myself, and fortunately I'm not a person that like to care about detail that much especially when this anime has a lot of chara, do they need to explain every detail of their skill one by one? will 13 eps (S1) enough for that? I hope they can, but I have my doubt.

The degree to which a lot of people got bent out of shape about this show around the usual circles had me quite amused.

Personally I quite enjoyed the first episode and the hints at a much more involving story down the road, but I have to admit that I don't really care for any of the characters right off the bat who all come across as a stereotype of some sort and who didn't really have that much interesting to say with the exception of Tori and his teachers. That definitely did do the first episode any favors. The two witch/angel girls and Aoi Kimi especially weren't doing themselves any favors this episode.

Still it's early days and I can already see things picking up next episode with the docking at Mikawa so I'm almost certain to follow this to the end of the season.
