Wow, like an idiot -- I failed to realize we did not see Chiaki in a bathing suit in any episode...

Of course, that idea got overshadowed by Ai's awesomeness. But still...

Top of the page has a version of her in swimsuit. Though I'm not certain if the effect is correct with her in ponytail or not.

She doesn't have a "Dark Queen" aura in it.

the design is well done but nothing beats the real Chiaki in the anime swimsuit and not just a fanart snif

So more pirates for this last(?) arc?

Privateers or real pirates? And is the Bentenmaru hunting them down, or is another group (like say the Galactic Empire) hunting down pirates, and not descriminating between legal and illegal piracy?

If me measure from the part where her leg ends and then measusure her waist(keep in mind the uniform is not skin thight), well, you could also say she has a thin waist

Well it seems to me that her hips are at least as wide as her shoulders. Probably slightly wider.

I have to agree that the style, or at least posing and body proportions is very Rumiko Takahashi-ish, but is it still considered fan art if it's by the person who did the original character design?

Y'know, that guy? Draws some very marvelous characters, with his own distinct style. You see a drawing of his, you know that it's his.

Well, he drew Evangelion characters, particularly Rei and Asuka. And oh boy, he drew Rei and Asuka, with his trademark style.

However, it's still "fan art", because the drawing style wasn't used in the actual series itself.

So I finished reading Chapter 1 of Miniskirt Pirates. The ships designs are from the anime. They skipped the entire vol 1. Marika is already the captain. The chapter ends with Chiaki bringing the "kid" to Marika (going to start novel 2 already)
