I wonder if MPlayer Extended will work fine under Lion, if it doesn't it will be a killer since it seems that Adrian is sort of MIA :/

Have been using Lion GM for nearly two weeks and since it's expected to come out tomorrow, I came across this nasty bug with the open dialog.

Spoiler for screenshot:

Otherwise, everything else works.

hello guys I'm working on a new build of mplayer2 got a lot of requests (3 ) since many groups are moving to Hi10P.

Too bad something broke in my build scripts so I'm investigating.

I just discovered this thread and it's a goldmine. An Mplayer OSX Extended binary with Mplayer2's 10-bit ability would be amazing.

update (just so that you can know what is blocking the release): I'm investigating a bug that causes an mplayer2 bundle icon to appear in the dock when I play something from mposxe.

oh and yes, I'm using LSBackgroundOnly.

mplayer2 is a fork of the original command line mplayer project, Mplayer OSX Extended is the front end to either mplayer or mplayer2, it will still be required.

So nothing has changed.

Only a new mplayer2 binary will be built, which should integrate with the current Mplayer OSX Extended version.

I updated the mplayer2 binary: as always an auto update is available with Sparkle. I tested this on Lion but it should work on Snow Leopard as well (let me know if it does not).

Crashes in Snow Leopard (not a big issue as I'll be switching to Lion next week, but figured I'd mention it anyways).

Thanks btw.

Does this build play 10bit btw?

@Ronny: Yes, it supports Hi10P.

I removed the auto update to the new version (you can still download it from googlecode manually).
I will build a SL version and add that to the autoupdate since the Lion release is still close and not everyone has updated yet.

While you already know, I still wanted to say that I upgraded to Lion today and the new binary works amazing. Thank you very much!

I downloaded commies' hi10p steins;gate ed to test out the snow leopard version and it worked flawlessly. Thank you. I was worried fansubbers would switch over before osx had high quality hi10p support like this.

Ty, cool. I pushed the official release through autoupdate.

This new version seems to act a little quirky with the audio in certain files under Lion. I haven't tested the same file on Snow Leopard yet, though (but I have with Perian in Lion). I will PM you the details.
