I wouldn't be. This is the good old litigious USA you know. People sue over coffee being too hot here. The names will be changed, and the show will be Americanized from top to bottom. Didn't some 4kids exec say something one time about how they did their best to remove any traces of Japan from Pokemon, to the point of changing onigiri (riceballs) into jelly doughnuts?

Well knowing about 4 kids well deserved reputation for totally screwing up everything they manage to get their grubby hands on Pretty Cure will turn into pretty lame. I'm glad I managed to get all of the originial PC episodes. I'd like to see what not 4 kids would do to Sailor Moon-Sailor Stars. Ugly thought, huh?

And now a triple post!

Ahem... 4kids has been completely silent about Pretty Cure's mysterious non-premier this fall. However, after trolling through 4kids tv forums and the interwebs, my best guess is that they will premier it mid season, which means December or January, perhaps.

I'm not familiar with this game, but I seriously doubt you can link it here. We have a strict no warez policy. Nothing can be linked here unless it is freeware. If these ROMS are normally bought for money, then they are warez. Since it needs an emulator, I'm guessing that it isn't meant to be freely traded.

The Games and the emulator are Free.
You can download by Megaupload page.

The problem is, no all forums accept post roms (License problems)

But this games Don’t have License in USA.
So, no is a violation of the rules (I Think ).

If it is licensed in Japan, then don't post links to it. If it is licensed in any country you can't link it here. We don't even allow links to anime unless it is subtitled.

Without forgetting to collect items, and to top it all they have limit of time before the zone where they are is consumed by the dark.

What?! the fair this under attack of the dark forces?! Arienai!

Black Whithe and Luminos will have to take separated ways
infested by Zakennas until arriving with the boss of each section of the fair.

Where the three are alternated to attack it.
In this game you found scenes of bonus where you will have to help
Mipple, Mepple or Porun to reunite the greater amount than you can of stars.

Hey, look what I found!

http://www.toei-anim.co.jp/corporate...125_presen.pdf

Yes, that's right, Quarkboy reads Toei corporate powerpoint presentations in his spare time.

Most importantly, look at page 15. See the first column? That's "America". Note the lack of star in the Pretty Cure row. This is a graph of shows that are airing in various countries.

Not exactly proof that 4kids doesn't have the license anymore, but probably the closest thing we'll ever get.

Okay, that settles it in my mind.

I just listened to the conference call by Al Kahn yesterday, the CEO of 4kids entertainment. In the call he says

"Come September, we will completely rebrand 4kids tv. Every single program will be based on a video game, or a trading card game."

He goes on to say how they will consider the tv programming block more as a gateway to these games than anything else.

Considering that Pretty Cure has no particularly interesting card game (it has collectible cards, but no GAME) and no particularly interesting video games either, that means Al Kahn just admitted that Pretty Cure will not air on 4kids tv.... EVER.

Therefore I now consider the show officially unlicensed. Or, in this case "never actually was licensed".

AND.... I think I consider Pretty Cure Licensed again.

Or perhaps I should call this post "And They're BAAAAAACK...."

According to a news report on animeonline, which links to a japanese blog http://www.animeonline.com/index.php...ails&id=101718

Toei animation has decided to set up shop... AGAIN... in their LA headquarters and try to license their products themselves into the US market. The Japanese blogger even notes that Pretty Cure is featured on their new web site even though it's the only show that is NOT already being distributed in the US.

Let's see if and when this might happen. But at the very least it seems like Toei will give any new licenses to themselves .

Who knows, maybe we'll even get Gegege no Kitarou over here?

I don't think it's out of the question.

What exactly does Toei plan to bring over, then? I would realize that "old" doesn't sell over here, so what's in your catalog that would work?

Right now, they have

1. Powerpuff girls Z (distribution rights probably owned by CN in america)
2. Lovely Complex (I think they could try this on DVD)
3. Happy Lucky Bikkuri-man (um... no)
4. Yes! Pretty Cure 5
5. Gegege no Kitarou (2007)
6. One Piece (licensed to Funimation)

airing.

If we look back a few years, we find

1. Digimon Savers (licensed to Disney)
2. Pretty Cure Splash Star
3. Giniro no Olynssis
4. Gaiking
5. Airgear (licensed by ADV)
6. Binbou shimai monogatari
7. Kamisama Kazoku
8. Beet the vandal buster (licensed by illumitoon)
9. Ayakashi (licensed by Geneon)
10. Bobobo (distroed by illumitoon)
11. Gash Bell (licensed and aired already)

So, looking at their entire recent catalog, what exactly DO they plan to license?

The choices seem pretty clear to me:

Older audience possibilities: Lovely Complex, Giniro no Olynssis, Binbou shimai, kamisama kazoku
Younger audience: Pretty Cure... and.... Gegege no Kitarou!

I doubt they'll do binbou shimai, and lovely complex is a stretch even though the manga sold pretty well, I believe. So that really leaves a pretty small number of shows to choose from. If you add in "Mononoke" which airs in June, I think there is room for Toei's biggest hit show of the season.

And yeah, I AM getting my hopes up. so sue me.

Quarkboy-just dust off your Pretty Cure subs and re-release them. I'm wondering-what's going on with Yes-Pretty Cure 5 and Pretty Cure Max Heart? Did you decide to stop subbing em' or just too much other stuff to do right now? And I wonder-will they try to re-release Sailor Moon themselves? I'd really love to see Sailor Stars get released here-but we both know that's never gonna happen?..........

I am embroiled in the toils of my real life. Finishing my ph.d. thesis, moving, finding a job, etc... I've suspended any subbing activity until such things are dealt with.

And there's no reason to rerelease my subs when torrents are still available. Plus it would get my tracker de-listed from asuki, since people still consider it licensed.
