Her demeanor. She probably doesn't have the drive to be a over the top mistress of evil anymore, and most people would probably take that as a sign of weakness. I'd be surprised if she actually lost any of her powers. That, most if not all of 3-A passing away affected her more then what she lets on...well, for a time at least.

That is accurate to how things can turn out though. Just ask the Catholic Church when the Byzantine's called for help prior to the crusades.

Anyway, I'm kind of sad that the most interesting thing I find about this so far is the thought that most of the populace moved to this "New Tokyo" and many other cities becoming ghost towns. That's something I can get into. Oh, and the freaks in the masks...I guess.

Spoiler for chapter 4: Kuroumaru was revealed to be immortal on a task to kill Evangeline, where he can't go back home, until he kills her. There is also more clues that Kuroumaru might be a girl after all. Evangeline tells Kuroumaru that he might try to fight her, after he defeats her disciple Touma, and after some pretty badass fight, Touma wins, using a trick at the last moment, and due to a bet that he made with Kuroumaru during the fight, he demands that he becomes his friend, due to him being the winner. The chapter ends with that...

Funny how we go around discussing lots of things during the week just to get the answer now. They seemed to treat Kuroumaru like crap so forcing him/her to be "male" would make some kind of sense. Kuroumaru was also worried about what Touta saw when he tried to get a look and was relieved when Touta said he didn't get a look which means Touta is hiding something. Then there was the worry about something perverted when Kuroumaru lost the bet __________________

Using his experience (which still needs a lot of grow) to react to attacks as they come, instead of having one specifically fighting style like martial artists (Kaede, Ku, Setsuna, Takamichi, etc).
