Something like that. It's basically a physical suit of armor but most of its arsenal are stored digitally like those on an IS unit.

So, apparently, the Minerva and the Silverback are the same in some ways.

Spoiler for Silverback Data Disc (From Ch. 4):

We're all back in the school dormitory, in Ratchet and Scourge's room. Ratchet was looking at the contents of the disc Tezla gave to him, and a holographic projection of an armored human figure pops up for us to see.

"There you go- the Silverback combat armor. No pictures, but plenty of data and specs. Knock yourselves out."

"But it's a full body combat armor. How can a combat armor match up to something that's practically a mech?" Sideswipe notes.

Another image pops up next to the Silverback, this time it's a crystal/star shape.

"There, I think that's how. The Silverback Spark that Tezla was talking about earlier." I pointed out.

Ratchet continues his work. "He did say that it's the 'life force' part of it." The holographic image of the Silverback Spark infuses with the combat armor. The armor 'lights up', as if awakening from a slumber and some sort of shielding begins to envelop around the armor.

"Wow, and he wasn't kidding. It's really the very core of the armor." Ratchet observes the holographic image in awe. "Hey, who would've thought that Magnus had a taste for the whole 'crazy-cyborg technology'? I almost admire that." Ratchet chuckles before turning back to his work.

"And apparently, Phantom Task attacked 7 months ago because they were looking for the armor."

So it really was Phantom Task who attacked us that night. What exactly are they after?

"Alright, we'll have to see Tezla again so we can get things all cleared up." I said before heading back to my dorm.

"Well, he really did give us a lot to look at." Scourge notes as he continues looking at the data disc.

"Yeah, he'll be contacting one of us within either a week or two." I reminded them.

Now, it does have some sort of energy shield that can regenerate, right? What will happen if the energy shield depletes? Does the Minerva shut down like the IS?

1. Nice Guy, but sometimes sarcastic or deadpan.
2. Emotionally brash if sufficiently provoked or angry (and doesn't care if it's a girl). His berserk button especially includes:
- If someone close to him threatened
- If a girl/woman flaunting their superiority JUST BECAUSE of social stigma. (though this may not present in the dream, it was a perfect normal universe after all)
3. While not exactly bad at numbers and calculation (actually a physic genius), he's better to grasp things if he saw of experience things empirically (see Sacred Twins chapter 4, 7 and 8 for example).

Regenerative shield, yes. But the Minerva does not shut down when the shield is depleted.

This is why Inami goes about nearly getting killed during his fight with the Silver Gospel and when he destroys the warhead before it hit the Academy.

Regarding the human fights though, I actually plan to have at least one of those.

Okay, that's one thing that sets the Silverback and Minerva apart (sort of).

What about armor plating and "bulkiness"?

Odd? Dunno, if anything, fans LIKED human fights, as seen from Doukuganryuu reviews.

I think mine is the only one that has that out of all the IS fanfics currently in the archive (as life and death goes).

@ Senpai - Irish's fight scenes tend to be human based. For example: His first fight after getting captured is a struggle on a falling airplane with a PT pilot.

@ Jak - Yeah, but you still have power armor and stuff, I'm using pure human combat.

Uh, the armor they used were not power armor.

The Silverback combat armor is the power armor.

Well the only human combat In Sacred Twins so far is Ichika vs Laura, Madoka vs Laura, and as of Chapter 12, Ichika & Dan versus a pack of gangster. Rather than systematic fight, all of them feels more like an all-out brawl.

@ Jak - I meant more physical combat. Like grapple fights, struggles, punch outs. That sort of thing.

What about armor plating and "bulkiness"?

Here's a sketch of the Minerva.

Armor-wise, it's a grade below titanium alloy but pretty resilient nonetheless, even against beam/energy weaponry.

Bulk-wise, since the armor is present mainly on where the main body parts are, leaving little to no protection on the joints(elbows, knees etc.), the pilot can pretty much move around and even run with the Minerva on.

Even with it's upgrade, the Vanguard Unit, it doesn't hamper armor movement one bit.

The final battle of my fic is a human fight, after their mechs have automatically switched to closed form due to damage, the enemy rushes in only to get a faceful of falcon punch courtesy of our protagonist...who is a girl.
