There's not much you can do other then practice unfortunately :x I main Erika and I still have problems pulling it off in combos sometimes, so the only advice I can give you is to hit up training mode and practice a whole bunch.
Find a character who can use their meta super on the ground (in other words, anyone else..) and practice until you can get it every time in both directions. Then practice doing it in the air with Erika by double jumping so you have more space. And once you can do that, practice doing it in combos. It might take a bit of work, but thats unfortunately what happens when you have the only air-exclusive meta super in the game |

I think her metaspecial isn't really worth using, really lol. But as Twilights said, it's not exactly easy to do in combos.
Uploading 2 matches of me vs that guy. His George is awesome, and my Erika is getting better. |

I think it is very situational, hence why it's not very good. TK6426C I've tried many times, but it's easily telegraphed lol. It's a good setup for SP2, then again I'd rather just j.214AB then SP2 + 426 for instant guard break or SP2 -> 6C if the enemy is blocking or air combo on the last canon hit if it connects.

If you do midscreen stuff->3C it's better to declare meta then going for air combo>MS
Midscreen if you're not near the opponent after 3C>erikopter jB whiffs; jC hits far and you whiff the air follow-ups And a Very quick TK MS it's not easily telegraphed |

I would only use her metaspecial in one situation, and that's after a j.cb j.cb air combo while in meta. Using it in any other situation can be potentially dangerous, as it's very easy to punish it. I would rather not use Erikopter at all. I'd rather 2c and neutral tag to my partner, or 2b -> attack touch mixup, or just a well spaced 6c. Or a SP2. Erikopter is a good move in corners, no reason to use it midscreen unless you want to hit jumpers or something. I think it is, and also easy to prevent. Just block up. What can Erika do? 2c? then crouch and block it. She can't instantly TK metaspecial after that. She can't even quick 2b while someone's standing because it hits mid. She can 2a, though. More matches. I tend to be in Meta a lot while neutral when I play Erika, so I have fun using her meta super to punish people who whiff low attacks, but otherwise I don't really pull it off in matches >.> Might be because I can get a lot more damage just by switching out to Ronove, but thats my experience atleast

a simple shortcut for her meta that work reliable while jumping forward, if just because this move has got a lot of buffer is jump forward after pressing forward a bit, then rotate the wholepad/keys back to forward; so somethign like 6 9 8 7 4 1 2 3 6.
to land her meta I either land it right after a 2c or after a meta trap 2,2 +a |

Yesterday, I thought about making an Ougon online tournament.
I know that there are several problems with that, such as lagging gameplay probably resulting in unsatifying results, but I am still convinced that hosting a tournament from time to time would benefit the Ougon community and keep the game alive. Some thoughts to the execution: -make every participant register online with his/her desired team -a direct elimination system -give the players one week to decide on a time for their match -no ideas yet for some kind of reward (maybe a decal with the username?) -of course someone had to do the website. i have some ad-free webspace and probably could get the system working. but i am not too fond of my web design abilities, so it is likely that it would look rather plain Please share your thoughts. Would you participate? |

Ok umm I'm kind of new here, downloaded and installed ougon(works fine) and now that I downloaded the manual 2.30 patch( from mizuumi.net) I can't get it to work. There's 2 zip folders of the manual patch but they seem to have the same exact stuff in them (they both contain a readme,FILES folder,GameMain.exe and a Bootup.exe. I extract them to the game's directory but when I start the game the screen goes black and I get the "GameMain.exe has encoutered a problem and needs to close" thing...What am I doing wrong?! Could really use some help c:

You need to install 'Ougon', then 'Ougon Cross'
Then the manual patches: As I was the one who made the latest manual patch, I can tell you, that it was supposed to be an '2.20 -> 2.30' only. So I don't really know how the other manual patches were designed. To be on the safe side, just install them all in order. And of course if you like the game, consider getting a physical copy of it |
