I don't know if we'll be using this thread for the second season but here's the PV & OP preview.

I just have a giant grin on my face after watching this, so good to have it back. Also, really curious to see who those guys that show up on the new OP are -- people for after this Inter High, or a new team that will suddenly rise on Day 3?

It's great having you back, Yowapeda.

The return of Yowamushi Pedal, aka the return of brutal weekly cliffhangers.

I was wondering the same thing. The animation seems to show the (current) third years from each team prominently, so it would seem unlikely they are from next year's race, but for them to come out of nowhere on day three would be weird...

Next week episode title is Akira - guess we're finally going to get a Midousuji backstory?

I liked how in this episode Kinjou and Fukutomi seemed to take it for granted that they would pass Midousuji - until he stepped up his game even further in the final stretch. Though they are still confident they can pull it off, they definitely acknowledge Midousuji at the end as a powerful rival. Even though he's a complete oddball, and a "villain," you can't help but root a bit for Midousuji here: Kinjou and Fukutomi are your stereotypical, straightforward jock prodigies, whereas Midousuji is just a different breed entirely (though of course, I'm still a Sohoku fan through and through).

Plus, Midousuji is two years younger and has a less powerful team.

Those teeth....

While I was never much of an Akira fan, this episode made me feel sorry for him after seeing his past. Great character focus on him. I wonder how much his dental hygiene bills are every year D:

Same here. i wanted to see him lose, but that was just too cruel. Especially in such a freak occurrence.

Ah yes the second most anticipated ep from what I read of the manga. Glad that this ep is able to bring out the brilliance of those chapters.

His story is a zero to "hero" story pitting a lesser talented, lesser powerful school against naturally talented, established powerful ones

In another dimension he could have been the protagonist
