Its a fascinating dynamic, what Batou and Motoko have. Batou is definitely the one possessing more human emotions, as Motoko comes across as ever in control of things; without taking anything away from the original, I hope the third season of GITS SAC will shed some more light on the nature of the relationship between these two main characters and symbols of GITS.

Edit: Question. There's this one BGM that appears several times in GITS but I've not found it on any of the OSTs. In the film, it starts playing at 1:13:37 and ends at around 1:16:34. Can anyone identify this track?

Nope, I hope it's on the OST. I want the song played by Origa a view scenes later.

The OST would be out right along with the DVD, at the end of November. Personally, I want the full version of Origa's "Player" (the opening song).

BTW, if someone is interested in what Origa is singing, I transcribed both OP and ED with a little translation.

Tagged below.

Spoiler for OP:

As a translation note: when she sings that she is "playing without the rules", she means it literally. However, when she sings that she is "just a player", she means specifically a device (like a music player or a video player). The title of the song is in English, but I think the title also has this second meaning.

The ending song is a bit longer and I can't make out two lines in the middle.

Spoiler for ED:

You mentioned once before that Origa's Russian doesn't make sense if I'm not mistaken. Just curious, but what do you exactly mean by that? She doesn't use correct grammar or something?

Well, now that I've had to listen to it carefully, it's not so meaningless. However, I must say that she has an interesting accent from all those years spent singing in Japan.

But I must also note that for the life of me, I still don't have a faintest idea what she was singing in the refrain to Inner Universe (OP of the first SAC series). 8)

Is this where she wanders into Latin? "Aeria Gloris" - Heavenly Glory

http://www.animelyrics.com/anime/gho...eruniverse.htm

Doesn't mention it.

http://www.stlyrics.com/songs/y/yoko...rse577805.html

Does.

I'm sorry to say but THAT is just speculation, nothing more.

The booklet for the GITS SAC OST has the refrain omitted for some reason. We don't really know what she is singing.

Darn it, I just realized that we should have asked her that in person (we ran an interview with Origa some time ago in a magazine). Well, too bad.

Actually the lines that she is singing::

Quote:
Naljubuites' naljubuites
Aeria gloris, aeria gloris
Naljubuites' naljubuites'
Aeria gloris, aeria gloris
Is correct. It means 'watch in awe, watch in awe'. You can go argue with Bandai/Manga Entertainment as well as Production IG for that one.

And that coverart is hideous!

I concur, sadly. It is hideous, and reminds me of a half-decent pirated cover.

Actually, "naljubuites" means "admire". However, it is not on any of the Japanese booklets. I encourage you to show me otherwise. Be my guest.

Bandai/Manga R1 subtitles are not a legitimate source here, since those are 2 separate companies and R1 distributors have made up their stuff more than once.

"Borma", anyone?

Yuck, I agree, that's an awful cover. The graphic circles and typesetting and all being a part of the whole franchise is the same and is OK, but the drawing itself feels unusually amateurish compared to the official artwork we've seen for this series (and the show itself!). And somehow I just don't really feel very much for that interpretation of the Major's design... it just seems very flat. Of course I don't ask that they follow the character sheet faithfully because the GITS designs are quite difficult to draw exactly, but eh... for such a beautiful OVA I thought they'd put some really kickass cover. Oh well, it's the inside that really matters.

I wouldn't exactly say that. Production IGs scriptwriters worked with Bandai on the names and what not. If I remember correctly, Borma was the official Japanese name as well. GiTs SAC isn't something Bandai futzed around with. The only other way to check is if Origa put it on the inner universe single as well as any other albums she released. Until then, I'm holding that term up since the russian people at my university came to the same consensus about the term (they even said that 'watch in awe' was appropriate).

Spoiler:
1) Well, i think that she her self wasnt aware of the puppeteer's existence till he told her. Her own thoughts combined with the NET gave rise to this self righteous complex. This complex then interacted with the healthcare net, using the Kufi aged's cyber brains as a place to store it self.

2) As to how he separated from her, i believe the reason is quite simple. Since uptil the point he told her who he was, they were you could say the sharing the same 'ghost' in a sense, hence, to split from her he would have to make her acknowledge his presence as in individual. This he could not do earlier as he wanted to see his plan through.
