Last time I checked, O!Syaoran was the one holding the feather, so now why would Watanuki be the one carrying it...? It's not something you can just pass around, like "can I have a look at it, mate? this thing is sooo wicked/creepy/interesting I'd like to see it up close..." Or does that mean that he also had a feather within himself? *Scratches head*

...And, well, there is the fact that C!Syaoran was also Watanuki's father and the latter wanted to 'pay his last respects', too, but...I wonder.

And thus after countless peregrinations, mind-jumbling twists and cerebral flamethrowers that have wrought delight and frustrations for thousands, if not millions of fans...the evil list of short-notice endings with nary an explanation in sight, still increases by one member. What does this mean - that the travel is not over yet but the rest can be overlooked because there's no more hoopla thereafter or it's just everybody goes home but only after taking a nap? I hope the special chapter gives us some more insight into the origins and motivations of FWR or what happens to the dimension-jumping party after these events, because this conclusion feels a tad abrupt to me.

Of course, we still have to see whether the chapter actually has more revelations and the spoiler person didn't bother writing them up, but I'm afraid it's kind of a letdown and it kind of forces xxxHolic to fill in the blanks and mop up any plot mess TRC might have left behind.

Space-time seemed to be repaired, but I doubt the two will wake up without tearing it again.

I'm hearing that a lot of people are disappointed at the ending, and i can't really blame them. I guess i am a little bit, though i built myself up months ago for this kind of ending.

I wouldn't be surprised if we see another twist in xxxHolic which changes our opinion on this ending. & there's the special chapter next week.

To me it felt like CLAMP just stopped caring and wanted to end it, which says a lot about how much they care about their fans...

I never have any illusions that the dames are in it for anything other than the money. Not many mangaka set out to "force" their fans to buy their entire canon just to get all the cameos in one particular story.

Having said that, this ending is expected by me. CLAMP rarely does full-blown happy endings. Someone should just hand Fay and Kurogane a fag each, and have a sunset as they walked towards it, and disappear in the horizon.

I was reading everyone's replies about the ending and then I read it. It's actually not that bad, only feels a bit rushed.

Their journey is finally over and the two leads can finally rest after that insanely long experience. Watanuki's fate I'll wait for in xxxHOLiC.

Can't wait to read 233. Hopefully after reading that, it won't feel as rushed.

Yeah, I agree that to me it felt way too rushed. I don't think, what with everything that was going on, that a mere 23 pages would do it any justice and be able to close it properly. I really am praying for a satisfying epilogue to go with it.
