If I understand this correctly, Yui's resolution for Yukino was to confess to Hachiman, right? Because if Yui and Hachiman gets together, the status quo can no longer exist, and Yukino no longer has any obligations left nor anyone to depend upon. Actually, I'm not sure what Yui's resolution was going to be before Hachiman stopped it. It just looked like whatever she was going to do, she was going to break up the trio, yet take "everything" in the end, whatever that means.

No, it seems that Yui has decided to be the "antagonist", wanting to steal "everything" and hoping that Yukino would actually do something instead of holding back on her feelings and cowering to the safety of someone else, which she did just before Haruno showed up. Yui may or may not have has feelings for Hachiman, but she's ready to give that up in favor of resolving the ongoing problems of the club.

And Hachiman took the bait, as she expected of him.

Hmmm... Originally, I was not too crazy with Yui in the first season. Then the second season happened. I'm very much impressed with Yui this season, and I really believe she and Hachiman should end up together. They have a certain dynamic that is so endearing.

I did like Yukino, but I feel like Yukino and Hachiman are too one-dimensional as couple. Now, with Yukino's apparent dependency, it just seems so wrong.

Yui willing to sacrifice herself really sealed the deal.

On the other hand, it was Iroha that was a big surprise for me. I thought she's gonna be that idol-bitch type character (like Lunar in Seto no Hanayome, albeit serious) that would try to force her way into Hikigaya. But the development of their relationship, although not as deep as with Yui and Yukino, was done almost naturally. I almost shipped her with Hikki at one point.

Take everything, including Yukino and Hachiman, it means threesome. She don't want to give up Yukino, so she will not confess, that's why the cookies are just "thanks". By maintaining threesome, Yukino will be depending on this threesome relationship, and in theory could be freed from her family issue by having a place outside of it. But we know very well what is the end of threesome in these stories.

They cannot do it without holding a delusion at the surface, and Yui knows putting this on the table would lead to Hachiman's rejection. But it is also her effort to bring conclusion to Yukino's and their own problem.

This. Unfortunately, I think, if Watari himself plan to pair Hachiman with anyone in the end at all, it will be Yukino. Because it's safe...

Given that Yui was running after him from the beginning she'd be jsut as save.

She is not the type of the heroine that majority of the readers prefer.

I personally prefer Shizuka-sensei but I know only two cases than Christmas cake won the guy and in one case both were secondary characters and in the over in was in manhwa. Saying this just in case someone thinks that I hate Yukino x Hachiman because of sympathies for Yui.

Yue is a normal girl and angst free unlike the other two, she serves as a balancing force in the club. Because of that, any romance involving her would be boring unlike Yukinon which has a lot of conflict and can generate a lot more plot

This is so bullshit. Hachiman isn't some trophy husband that they can claim depending on who "wins".

I wish Hachi will just outright say he ain't playing no game.

Was... was that the end of the season? If so, that's BS.

That was a very good season. The only bad part of it is that we're probably going to have to wait a long time until the next one since I heard the anime caught up to the light novels. It just had to end on a cliffhanger too... Actually, I do have a complaint about this season, and it's that it had too much drama and not enough comedy. Season 1 was much more balanced.

Iroha was a great addition to the cast. I initially didn't think I would like her, but she ended up really growing on me. Yui is still best girl though (after Saika of course).

If the series is still ongoing of course there isn't going to be a final 'choice' unless the writers decided to do an original. Even then that would kinda make a mockery of everything.

Still OreGairu has much more chances for S3 than, for example, Haganai that had similar situation after S2

Since when? The ending implied that the two will remain platonic at most. Yukinoshita Yukno has to solve her own problems, meaning Hachiman won't be stepping in to save her this time.

That's not what Yui was talking about at all.

She was referring to Shizuka's contest between Yukino and Hachiman at the beginning of the series, and during the election arc about the best way to solve problems in the Service Club.

It's not about shipping wars. It's about whose methods to follow to help others. What Yui was suggesting was to rely on her, and maintain the status quo.

Five volumes. The anime has covered all of the light novels at this point since it managed to cover the most recent volume which was just released four days ago.

As inconclusive as the ending was, the developments and progression for the characters, mainly that of Hikki and Yui, were plenty satisfying to me so all's good in the end. Yui pulling a Hayama to force Hikki and Yukino pass their impasse was unexpected but brilliant and managed to lay out what they each wanted in their shared relationship going forward.
