Emma Comes to America....

On some good news, looks like CMX is picking up the distribution of Emma. Looks like there will be hope yet for more mature titles. (Hoping for YKK next, myself.)

A lot of fans seems to think this is a bad thing (there was a lot of lamenting on Iican over this) but I personally think it's a good thing since more people will get exposed to Emma

Really? What seemed to be the problem? Or is it just because its "CMX"?

Does anyone know how many volumes have been released in Singapore, in mandarin? I haven't been to comics connection for a while, and the last time I went, the sales guy had no idea what emma is. And I couldn't stay back to search for the title. I really need to get to a shop which knows what I'm talking about at least.

If you are talking about the Taiwan version, it is released by Kadokawa and volume 4 just came out last month

I can't believe they are ending this manga with Ch. 52.

http://www.kanshin.jp/comic-beam/?mo...word&id=607875

There's still a lot of things in the story that can be explored.
Why are they ending it?

I just hope it wasn't ended because of poor sales.

No love for Emma?

Soooo, I read the summary of chapter 52, which, unfortunately, is really the last one, and I'm so disappointed
It's too bad the author had to end it so soon, there are so many things that needed proper resolutions, mostly character development. I mean, what about all those wonderful servants who worked for the german family? And Williams' sisters and brothers? And Eleonor?

Gaaaah, I'm sad and frustrated.

Chances are the next series done by this mangaka will be in the same world and we'll have some crossovers that address some of those questions.

If so, I hope it will be something about William's sister... The older one that is.

I never liked Grace. She was a snob. I expect Vivi to be like her in the future, but with a little less class.

Actually, the reason why I'm in interested about her --

Spoiler:

Vivi on the other hand is, well, Vivi.

I'm actually interested in Grace too. And Arthur, as well as Hans (I think it's the name of the servant who was falling for Emma) and that black-haired servant woman of the German family who was cold and reserved (lol at my description, I should check out the name).

Well, I liked a lot of secondary characters!

Bumping this since the last few chapters are now translated.

Overall, the ending was pretty disappointing. There's just too many unresolved issues, and the manga could have used another book to wrap up all the loose ends.

Oh well, I was slightly disappointed as well - because it was only now that they really introduced the side characters (the Jounes family) in depth. I especially have taken a liking on Arthur. Intelligent, non-chalant and slightly sarcastic - he's just gorgeous *g*

When it comes to Grace though, I have only noticed by now that she opposes William's marriage so much - very much unlike Vivi, who was bluntly saying it. Actually I'm not sure which one of them I dislike more...

Finally saw the last three chapters.

Ok so ya it ended abruptly. Still though, the look of William and Emma dressed up for the party made it all worth it. Finally get to see how much more beautiful Emma can be. The smile she gave William at the end made for the perfect ending

Eh ? I thought she was pretty bad looking in that fancy dress. No charm at all, just one of the many powdered-up zeros.
I hate that in RL women too...all the heels and and the rest of the ugly garments.

In japanese release volume 7 is the last.

I preferred her look the first time she dressed up in chapter 27 or something. That looked more "Emma" to me, if you get what I mean. Still I thought she was quite lovely in the last chapter too. I have no complaints about the way it ended, either. I don't think it was abrupt. I liked the "It's all up to them now" message it sends.
