If Itami and Rory ever had a kid (by artificially), the kid will cute-looking and very destructive. If a girl, name would be Cory. Dunno about boy. Rory would name her kid that has part of her name in it.

Just do what old civilisations do. Give him a Surname. That's the entire point of Surnames in the ancient world.

If I remember i correctly it ended at Light Nobel book 3. Book 4 titled "Full Assault" is next in line.

It closes at the end of 5'th novel, anime ended in the middle of 3'rd one.

So next season should begin with Zouken waging his war agaisnt Japan and ending with the GATE closing.

I may be a little late to the party, but I just recently stumbled onto this series. After enjoying the anime, I picked up the manga and wow! Starting the light novels now and I'm glad to hear about the Gaiden novels and the new series coming up; I was worried everything was going to end too fast.

I'm curious who the next antagonists will be? It seems like a safe bet that the empire will get its butt kicked by the JSDF; don't really see how they could possibly stand a chance unless a god took their side and they had some major magic intervention.

GATE is dubbed now. Sentai actually make a lot of effort into this unlike Funimination (no offense). I'll see how it is when it comes out. Soon far I'm impressed Rory Mercury's dub, but it's probably because of that scene so nothing firm yet.

Also see that there has been any news updates from the light novels. We don't even know if revised LNs are done yet. I'll wait to see what happens when Vol 7 comes out.

The new series of novels have been confirmed, and Itami isn't the protagonist though he still exists in the world somewhere. It is now officially about a submarine and naval adventures of the JMSDF.

Interesting that the author admits that this is outside his comfort zone, as he had no experience as a sailor. So he worked extra hare at it and hope it would be good enough.
