i really like, how you cropped shiori, emphasis her expression, the miracle and her hand.
weirdly enough, i feel something wrong with the light blue gap between the white edges.

maybe because shiori is too much outstanding? you probably should try some transparency/blending + a light sweet white glow or something
and finally, i think the inner rectangle is kinda thick ^^"

"thumb up for this", you are getting a pretty smooth style these times, Deathy, keep it up ^^

yea i thought about using a blending layer but wondered how it will turn out if i just kept the solid colour (not too well by the looks of it ) ~ just wanted to test a clean cut image with no fancy outer glow bla bla

now looking at it maybe the blue is a bit oddly shaped ~ i mean the right side looks a bit too slanted compared to the left side and with shiori not being in the center of it all makes the colours a bit one sided >.<

i duno about the box i think its okey ~ tho i really need to make it so that my font isnt being cutout somewat ~ maybe outerglow will sort that out

thx for the tips ^__^

That site looks interesting; Although, when you said brushes, I though you were refering to something like this.

Let's see...
1) the texts are really a pain to read... in fact, their blending and opacity are so low that it require some concentration to figure what is writtent X_X
2) the flow of the hair, at the left is kinda strange to me : the bright blue becomes suddenly brighter, almost like some milky white with some blue touch
3) the background is slightly imbalanced (the right side is kinda strange, but you cannot control a lot of things with Swirl etc ^^")

theses 3 points above are the only things which are slightly bothering me.
anyway, i really liked the amount of different blue, and the picture size/crop ratio.
i would also suggest some contrast in the bightness, but meh ^^"

1) yeh...i was actually trying to make the font blend with the BG...guess that didnt work XD

2) the hair flow on the left side? i blame the outer glow and my attempt at transparency >.< should be better with version 5 ~ (one im using now )

3) unbalanced huh? can you elaborate more plz so maybe i can fix it

~ contrast increased to make it look a bit more colourful ^__^

well, IMO, the BG is unbalanced because of the amount of ray : the left is pretty swirling with some neat blue intwined, while the right side is plain flowing white in front of a blue BG...

in others words : lots of swiling lines at the left, really not a lot, and rather small...

but that's just nitpicking XD
(as a side note : i'm not too sure if bending Reinforce like this is better ~~)

Oh yes, I know of that site. Last time I checked it I was using an older version of Photoshop and thus was unable to pick must brushes there.

Wouldn't hurt to check it now.

I like the colors for the background.

Guess, I'll try some of this layer blending bit myself.

well well theres a first for everything...and this is my first wallie ~

its actually quite tricky to find a theme for wallies...soo many empty spaces to full but and only a limited number of ideas by brain can generate i can say for a first wallie im pretty happy the way it turned out...even if the theme is completely messed up

It's good. My first wall looked very similar. (yeah, screencaps )
...but for walls I highly recommend using official art instead of fan-art.

I usually go to these sites to search for tutorials.
http://www.pixel2life.com/
http://pslover.com/

Also, sometimes stock photographs can really help in making walls. (Especially sky walls)
