Kokoro Toshokan ep10. It brought every character shown up to that point, made their stories more poignant and tells you what happened to the sisters' parents.*Sniff*
This is one time the anime is better than the manga. The ending of manga's just had all the characters meet up for a party. The anime was so sad yet so good... unlike some other anime were the plot got serious and conflicted with the comedy/cuteness/light-heartedness of the show, the serious of this episode made sense and made the cuteness more precious. Watch it! |

Never really got touched by an anime before....
But got really depressed after playing Tenshi Inai No Jyuuni Gatsu ( 天使いないの十二月 ), an ero-gemu. The pharse in my sig, それは永遠でなく 真実でなく ただ、そこにあるだけの思い・・・・・・。 is the ending quote from the game and means "Nothing is real enough to be of eternal, you just think that it is....." Which is how I look at many things now..... |

Hmm. Series that have made me cry are:
1.) Rurouni Kenshin Seissouhen 2.) Kimi ga Nozomu Eien And I haven't yet watched Saikano, but from the looks of it, I'll probably tear up during the series, too. I find that dramas are much more of a tearjerker though. 1.) Autumn Tale 2.) Beautiful Life 3.) Forbidden Love 4.) Summer Snow |

Some Anime were so touching I couldn't help crying when I was a kid but a little few are still as touching when I see them today and yes they still give me the water works.
These are 1. just about all the scenes from Rose of Versailles that have the instrumental of the opening theme. Especially Oscar's and Andre's death and the scenes involving Marie Antionette and Monsieur de Fersen. 2. The Saint Seiya episodes that show the death of my favourite characters like Camus, Shiryu, Aphrodite, Mime, Thor, Black Dragon, Shura, Hyoga, Shun, Shaka and Athena. 3. The end of Utena, with her realisation that she couldn't really save Anthy and the end of the magnificent movie. 4. Sailor Moon episodes that involved death of the senshis or of Nephlite and Sapphire. |

The saddest parts of anime I have seen were the end of Serial Experiments Lain and Blench (which is weird for a fighting anime). I guess in Naruto there is some sad parts as well, but Gaara trying to commit suicide wasn't that sad. The manga of Neon Genesis Evangelion has be touching, but nothing I could relate to. Maybe Trigun had its moments, but I haven't seen that in a long time.
But on the top, Serial Experiments Lain is the most depressing anime i have ever seen. |

Hikaru no Go Naruto Full Moon wo Sagashite 20th Century Boys Pokemon, a couple times Fushigi Yuugi (I hate that series, but cripes, is there a good death scene in there, or what?) Yugioh It's always the endings that kill me. I hate it when things are over.

Great thread. Thanks to everyone for the tips. I often get teary watching movies, usually at painfully happy moments.
Ai Yori Aoshi -- believe it or not Spoiler for Ai Yori Aoshi:
Full Moon wo Sagashite -- Spoiler for Full Moon wo Sagashite:
Maria-sama ga Miteru -- tears of joy came to my eyes a couple of times W-Wish -- I'm about to start crying, I can tell, and not from joy. But maybe I'm the only person who sympathizes with Senna. And now to watch all the other anime people have mentioned.... Last edited by Kaoru Chujo; 2004-12-14 at 00:43. |

I've got to say, One Piece has made me cry more times than I would like to admit. It's something about the horrendous, soul crushing things that the characters went thru as children (always as kids... methinks Oda has some issues to work out) mixed together with Luffy's sheer determination to make his friends happy(esp. Nami's storyline, man that one was tough). Put them together and boom! Tears.
I also can't sit thru Barefoot Gen. That film is in my opinon the best war movie in history, bar none. Sad as all get-go though. Got to love a movie that makes you care more for an drawing then you normaly would for a real person... |
