Good gba rpgs
Hey, I'm a fan of 2'd rpgs ( i know, thats teh sux today ) back in ye olden days, thats what was kicken chicken. Gba ( game boy advance for non-1337-H4x0rs ) has resurrected the 2'd fad from it's sentance to serve behind polygon hell. Along with it has come the faithful rpg.
I brought this up for those that know of, and enjoy good gba rpgs. Its more of a reccomendationial area, and a place to brag about rpgs. |

The "Fire Emblem" series, I think, is considered to be RPGs.
I don't, though, know what "kicken chicken" is supposed to be. Is it a game or slang? Edit - And yes, I like it. (Gotta add this part to put the post onto topic. ) Last edited by LynnieS; 2004-05-21 at 10:39. |

I wouldn't say Golden Sun to be very good. The graphics are okay, as well as the sounds, but the whole plot is very, very bad and shallow. Why?
- The characters are clichê and immature. - Plot? What plot? I could see what was coming a mile away. Myself, I couldn't even play more than ten minutes of the sequel due of certain *cough* spoilers *cough* and the sheer ridicilousness of it. Try the first part, but forget the rest. GBA would have good potential for a creative RPG's, if they just would bother to... |

The last part wasn't very accurate (about fun to play). Sure it has some of the best graphics for an rpg on the gba, and the sound is just fine. But fun to play? I doubt that. But maby it's just me becuase I got so bored of the game so fast. The only thing that kept me playing was the visuals. But when that got repetative I just chucked it out the window. |

Note to self
"Add IMO before ranting about games you like" :P Then again I haven't played many RPGs so I couldn't see the plot coming nor did I thought the characters were cliche. I'm not sure what you mean with spoilers in the beginning of the second part, unless you mean the prologue that basicly explains what happend in the first part. I thought it was overal fun to play with the games heck I even finished the games three times. I really enjoyed the story :P |

Hey, don't diss pokemon.
In all seriousness though, without pokemon, handheld RPGs would be held back 5 years; it won't be as popular nor as prolific as it is right now. At the very least, it proved to me that an interesting/original battle system can overturn a lack of plot. Still, best GBA RPG I think is Tactics Ogre: Knight of Lodis. Visuals are on par with the original Tactics Ogre, and the plot was still immense. Good luck finding a copy now though, and for the right price even if you did. Riviera comes second, though the SRW series was very fun for a mecha fan like me.
