CD burner

I made a previos thread about this but can anyone recommend me a specific cd or cd/dvd burner with its price. I want a burner with a good burning speed and one that can check the validity of a newly burned file quickly.

Thanks for the help.

Well any cd burner made in the past 2 years fits the bill. there all pretty much the same now very similar performance. I like lite on drives myself i have a 48x24x48 cd burner and a 811s dvd burner and i've yet to have any problems with either yet. I have made a few coasters with the cd burner but i've ben using it for over a year and have burned upwards of 1000 discs. Got my dvd burner 2 monthes ago have burned almost 100 dvd's and have not had a coaster yet. As for checking the disc after burning that pretty much depends on your computer speed and what program your using.

I am using a Samsung CD burner that has given me nothing except for joy. I've burned about 500-700 CDs (a number of different brands) without it starting to wear out.

I use TDK (CDRW)and Pioneer(DVDRW). My TDK is starting to wear out after burning 4-5 CDs a day for the last two years. My Pioneer works fine but it locks my system up for about a sec or two. I think the problem is my powersupply not able to support both drives.

I concur. Liteon is an excellent budget DVD burner. The top of the line model has 8x DVD burning and also 40x cd burning. Convient over the Pioneer's 24x or other burners that have slower CD burning speed.
