Wow. Never expected to see THIS get animated. I haven't read it in a while, but I recall it was really over the top with this cute junior high school girl suddenly turning into a hypersexual sadist who gets off way too much torturing the magical girls. Just how far are they willing to go with parodies and deconstructions of the magical girl genre?

That's a monkey paw situation right there. So close and yet so far away. Honestly probably eats at her more than if she never gained any magical abilities at all. But hey, will be interesting to see how the show plays out.

Not entirely sure about the VA for the lead girl. It is just one trailer, but I'm not sure about that choice.

She's very much a beginner as far as I can tell; I'm not sure if she has an idol background but she only has one or two credits I can find for side or background characters. I'll give her the benefit of the doubt I suppose.

You mean the gacha game? It looks like she does have an idol background... all of her anime roles are like "student" and "girl A".

Her first main anime role was in Origami Ninja Koyan (おりがみにんじゃコーヤン), a very obscure 2020 anime that few people have remembered watching.

A role is a role I guess but "anime" might be a bit of a stretch...
