Chaos;head anime
CHAOS;HEAD is an interactive novel for PC (ages +15) that was published by Nitroplus on April 25, 2008. A TV anime has been announced for Fall 2008!
Anime information Original work: Nitroplus/5pb./RED FLAGSHIP Directing: Ishiyama Takaaki (Otogizushi Akazukin, Maple Story) Storyboard: Inoue Toshiki (Death Note, Maple Story) Original character design: Sasaki Mutsumi (Memories Off, Myself;Yourself) Character design: Shimamura Hidekazu (Hachimitsu to Clover, Yume Tsukai) Sound directing: Nakajima Toshihiko (Devil May Cry, World Destruction) Animation production: MAD HOUSE Game opening The story You’re playing Nishijou Takumi, a fully fledged otaku with no interest in the real world. He’s an Internet addict, a shut-in who attends his second year of high school just for the sake of keeping his attendance rate high enough. He lives alone in a small container house on top of some Shinjuku apartment building he calls the Base, away from his parents and his little sister. This goes without saying, his place is filled with piles of eroge packages, figures and other goods, empty convenience store lunch boxes etc. ダメ人間 At the time, Shinjuku is a stage to a series of murders named as The New Generation Frenzy (abbr. NewGene). Victims are young people who are murdered in very brutal ways. Takumi is a net addict, and the events surrounding these murders were covered by various news outlets, so naturally he got involved in Internet discussions about them. One day he starts chatting with this person nicknamed Shougun (将軍, tl. General) who has a huge take on the next NewGene murder. He posts links to Takumi that are filled with guro imagery of the next murder scene, he also tells him the way the victim got killed. Takumi’s search for the bizarre leads him straight to the mentioned murder scene, an event that disturbs his life of a hikikomori. As I've read, this is a fairly disturbing game altogether. I can see that from the protagonist's annoying hilarious behavior, but myself have never made it past the trial version. Anyway, I'm glad it's getting an anime since I've been rooting for it even before the game got released. I hoped this would be another GONZO anime, but those chances are getting slim (only a few months left 'till Fall). Last edited by cyth; 2008-07-28 at 07:31. |

So, so thrilled about this! One of my favorite games.
If the protagonist is annoying, I think it's only because he hits too close to home. The character development is amazing, for both him and the female characters. TBH, I almost have trouble understanding how players could be irritated by him when he obviously doesn't have the same emotional or coping equipment as "normal" people. I could understand pity or revulsion (albeit the kind that doesn't let you look away), but I've rarely seen another character who was portrayed so mercilessly and with such exactitude--and ultimately humanity and understanding--by his writers. |

I hope they'd keep the dark side of the series, and not use lame direction since the plot is kinda hard to execute for an anime adaptation
Also a question. Are there any info on who's the animation studio making? I really REALLY hope it's not GONZO |
