I just watched the actual episode, and damn that commercial break nearly killed me
The ED was way better than the OP song, and hilarious Yozora as nun being carried to the heavens by angle Sena... not to mention her air guitar compared to Sena playing the actual one... the irony. @KaoruC: Inoue Marina fits the role very well IMHO, maybe it would have been better to pick an actress that usually plays male characters, but that would be very unconventional. @omimon: The character designs in Denpa Onna were much closer to the original from the novel... take also into account, the proportion of the bodies, and expressions. Here they are more conventional, and closer to the manga ones, rather than the novel... by no means worse, just different. |

Wow, first episode was certainly very enjoyble, which is kinda weird as I wasn't able to get in it's manga counterpart. Though thinking back to the last few shows of this kind(Oreimo, IS, Korezom blah blah blah), first episodes are generally one of the better parts of the show. I am really hoping that this is not the case here and this show won't get boring in it's second half @_@.
As for the episode itself, I am really loving the designs here. It really reminds of Denpa Onna. The animation is pretty fluid as well and really helps in getting sucked into the atmosphere of the show(which is pretty important for a show like this). The voice acting is pretty good though a few parts do feel a bit forced. :| As for the opening, yea it's different from what I expected but it's nothing bad imo. I kinda like these weird openings(I loved denpa onna's and death note's second op).

Episode 1
Loved the pacing and the overall episode. Kodaka scared the hell out of his extremely hot teacher on the 1st day of school. Yozora is too hot, way more than Sena imo The Neighbor's Club is formed and so begins a brand new page of friendship harem in anime history. Some freebies If you look at the 1st gif that teacher almost looks like an adult version of Yozora

Oh, I didn't dislike it. As I said, I'm leery of the harem vibes (despite manga readers saying it isn't a harem manga), but enjoyed the first episode as a sort of light fluff I can watch with a smile on my face and my brain turned off.

Nah, I also quite liked it, but then again I also liked a lot of the K-On vocal songs by the same composer/arranger. Given how well these songs ended up selling in the home market, I think it may have been a good marketing move... even if it doesn't have quite as positive a reception here. You know what they say... opinions...

Just finished episode 1 right now. The OP is alright and the ED is cool. I thought Kanae Itou was good voicing Sena and I can get used to hearing Marina Inoue as Yozora. I liked the pacing for this episode, the animation's awesome too. So it was a great start and it met my expectaions.

I like it too. Definitely not the best OP song I've heard but still, I like it.
"Doudai doudai sokontoko" By the way what happen to the ED song from the OVA/prologue? I thought it will be the ED song for the actual anime too...

Technically, this shouldn't be my type of show. Particularily when the OP played, I was pre-emptively thinking this was going to be bad (ear rape vocals and tons of fanservice and harem antics in the OP). However, I was somewhat surprised as it ended up being somewhat entertaining.
Yozora and Sena are two big haters. Feels like I'm watching Oreimo V2.0 but with no incest and Kirino but twice the Kuronekos . Yes, the jokes and premise is a bit silly, but whatever I laughed. Guilty pleasure of the season possibly. 6/10 + 1 for being a club about haters for a total of 7/10. P.S. What kind of name is "Neighbours Club". Call it a "Loners Club" or "Haters club" imo. |

First episode wasn't bad, better than the OVA or what it was. Think the problem I have, is that there is (probably?) only one male in the club. Personally I think would work better it is more mixed or only just girls in the club, if it was really about making friends, and not just a theme to cover a harem story.
I'll give it a few episodes until i decide to drop it or not. |

This first episode didn't "WOW" me like I expected to, even though I've read the manga. Kodaka looks like a delinquent more so than the ova thank gosh, but still doesn't look consistently threatening like in the manga. I think the char's heads are a bit too wide(sans the OP) and the colors look dingy, dull, washed out instead of vibrant, but that may have been an encoding issue with the sub i got. Other than that, a solid start. Things should pick up when they get more members.
