Not to try and bit your head off, but when you first log onto the animesuki forum it gives a list of topics including one called "Suggestions" and it's whole purpose is for people to make post asking for suggestions based on what they like. You will probably get a much better response there.

They're licensed but the best gurly school kids anime that ive seen so far have been GTO and Fruits Basket. (OK Gto's not really gurly, but it's school and it's great)

Guess it depends on how gurly what you want to see is. Are you wanting to see anime aimed at females, or do you want to see anime with girls in it? Ikkitousen seems to point to the latter

Some clarification would help with making suggestions.

isn't Kimi ga nozomo eien a love story? the one that got itself its own section somewhere down there. it's really hot now, plus, you can still get it from animesuki.

Okay, here are some suggestions that are love stories, most involving school kids:

Hana Yori Dango (licensed)
Kodomo no Omocha (unlicensed)
Full Moon wo Sagashite (unlicensed)
Narue no Sekai (licensed)
Marmalade Boy (unlicensed)
Ai Yori Aoshi (licensed)

I really strongly suggest you pick up Kimi ga Nozomu Eien. The story starts off as your typical highschool drama, but has some twists and turns in it. I am not one for romance anime, but this show is powerful stuff. Keeps gripped to my seat while watching each episode. It's that good. Another show that is pretty damn good is Shingetsutan Tsukihime. Vampire anime with a love story, good stuff. Popotan is a pretty good series, very ecchi and lots of nudity(no sex) though, but it has a really heart felt story.

I haven't watched a whole lot of girly/romance series, but of the few I did get around to watch, i think you can try Onegai Teacher, and there's this classic Live-Evil's releasing called Rose of Versailles, probably it's just me, but it really reminds me of Utena.

Kanon. It may take a while to get used to the crappy animation, but it's really good. I also suggest Nadesico, it's licensed, but you can get the box set for $90 or less. It's scifi mecha, but it does have a love story in it, sort of...
