At least he managed to control himself long enough to provide his consenting executioner with an opening. His last vision of a cheering circuit was very appropriate, btw.

One person I'm starting to...worry about would be Marek, though. I was quite surprised at his vehemence during the 'kill'em all till you are the last one standing' debate. I understand he lost his reserves after the beating he got from Johann but I can't but muse about the radicality of his newfound stance. With that final line 'you're not a hero, you're a coward,' things aren't looking good.

Not to mention that he's really getting snappy with his (half?-)sister. I know he's been bullied and that his relative/guardian is always absent due to overwork and all that, but I don't the direction where it's heading. It's big trouble crawling up your backyard and waiting for the right moment to blow up. I wonder how it'll play out now that Joseph has killed Gerd. Marek saw Gerd losing control and lost all of his illusions but how will it influence his new friendship with Joseph?

As for Hermann, well...I'm completely desensitized right now - I fell neither pity nor dislike. Sure, every possible sign in the book about a very deep friendship between him and Gerd has been thrown out, but I've ran out of interest in the debate. One thing I totally resent, though, is his decision to take Marek out to meet Gerd. Jesus, I know it was a possible way to calm down the poor guy but I'm sorry - in this case, he had no right to overrule Amanda's refusal to let Marek go. Had his hunch been wrong, she'd have tanned his ass a thousand times over...especially if something had happened to her lil' bro. It's recklessness and irresponsibility. You don't shanghai other people's relatives or charges for something like this.

Oh, well, it's not that I dislike the show (far from it), but some of the characters make me shake my head non-stop. But I guess that's the scriptwriters' unspoken goal - to show us the failings and tragedies of helpless actors thrown in one hell of a drama play.

he didn't overrule amanda, it was malek that chose to go and didn't listen to her
and the thing is herman didn't really think it's possible that his "champ" really turned bad..
people can be pretty blind to reality, even to this level.
there are those that will even deny what their own eyes saw.
so herman not accepting the idea that gerd could be bad is not that odd to me..

At least Gerd was able to for a short time regain some of his humanity. In some ways I'm angry at him and in other ways I feel sorry for him. I do have to wonder what will happen in regards to Malek and Hermann. I have a bad feeling in regards to both of them.

I think the story will now focus on finding whoever gave Gerd the red pill (lol, I guess death awaits those that tumble down this rabbit hole). Six episodes into the series, and we still have no idea who that woman is. The series will probably start expanding its character base, we may even see more Amalgams with conscious behavior. But I'm impressed by character interaction and placement; both are pretty believable.

That episode was very interesting. Well I didn't predict something like that would happen. I'm still confuse as what should my opinion be. I'm mad and sad at what happened especially since it is still so early in the series but at the same time I'm like so proud of his character for choosing something like that even though the two people who keeps watching his life misunderstood him.

Ugh, I had an idea that they would kill off Gerd, but I was still hopefull. Oh well. His struggle was one of the biggest appeals of the series for me, the fact he was pretty much a victim of so many things right from the start. But in the end humans are human, we rarely overcome such odds. So the fact he managed to stay human just at the end earns my respect. I feel sorry for Hermann though, a dedicated if naive best friend. XAT are still asses, plus they have no individual depth to them.

Still with him gone the show better pick up the slack, an interesting show can easily go bad if they don't use what they have. Joseph has grown on me, but I kinda wanna smack some sense into Malek...and Amanda for differeent reasons. I think it was his last comment about Gerd that made me think he's too bitter now. And Amanda needs to open her eyes and see the problems in front of her eyes.

Just saw the 2chan screens. Whoa.

No action this week but the angst must've reached an all-time high. I expect it'll mostly be discussion but there are at least a couple big things worth discussing - especially since it concerns character development...namely Marek's.

1. Looks like Hermann either got fired or put on probation.
2. Johann committed suicide by hanging himself.
3. It had a long time coming, but it seems the brother and sister are getting closer and ironing out their respective problems.
4. Ms. Stripehead seems to have found Joseph. And guess what is she offering him?
Small hint: "Gerd".

YT and CR will show up in...one hour ten minutes or so - they usually take a little time making the files accessible for widespread release on either outlet.

1. I was mistaken - it was not Joseph who met Stripehead. It was Marek. And she offers him you-know-what. After Johann's death and all the drama behind his impoverished family (the mother was bribed by the school principal to keep silent and avoid bringing dirt onto the establishment), I'm afraid Marek's going to take it. He's still nurturing that 'kill-all-before-they-kill-you' policy and since he's been disappointed by both Gerd and God's silence (litterally), I'll only give you one guess as to which choice he'll make.
2. Hermann is partially relieved of duty - he is in a cell, but nevertheless tasked with finding clues as to what happened during the circuit.
3. Cat is out of the bag for Joseph. Just because he hadn't been active enough for the past few days, Stripehead delivered his picture (remember, she videotaped his curt battle with Gerd) to XAT. And now everyone's on a witch-hunt. Looks like a catch-22 for Joseph - no matter whether there is low or high Demoniac activity, he's forced to go loud and draw everyone's attention. I'm not sure whether Stripehead is trying to collect data from Joseph's vigilantism or if she's trying to (re)claim him. But it's a lose-lose situation for him.
4. Wolf has a fever. Uh-oh. It's even featured, quite ominously, in the next ep preview. Last time someone had a fever, well, we all know what happened next.

Next ep: Blue-hunting for XAT. I've got a bad feeling about that small scene where Ms. Stripehead's hand is caressing someone's body. That suspiciously looks like XAT motorbiking gear. And Marek...

Well. Episode 8 is 'No Longer Powerless'. I think I don't need to expound on it.

I liked the show right from the beginning, but I think it rates for the "most underestimated show" of the season.

I like how they are developing Malek's story, but I fear he won't last too long. Life expectancy of those taking the red pill is not exactly stellar, even if we only have one other person to compare to for now.

Joseph has been sitting on his ass doing nothing but looking bored and carving statues for too long, so it's no surprise that he's getting heat now.

We also got a glimpse at the end of what could be the last boss, or at least the person pulling the strings here.

Oh, and the preview had Joseph's lovely demoniac sidekick IRL. Guess she wasn't just his bike's AI

I'm really liking this show at the moment but half of the time its so depressing to watch. I couldn't imagine myself wanting to watch this show again with the bullying storyline and other happenings.

Not Gerd! He was my favorite character! I don't know where the show will go from here but I'm less interested in that green haired bitch and the bully scum. I'm looking forward to those 3 getting gutted at some point. I really felt sorry for Gerd when he died. Epic death scene.

Marek, predictably, took the pill...and went on a rampage. In front of his sister. And it looks like she knows it's him.
Wolf got contacted by Stripehead, and it's not looking good. By the looks of it, there was a trade of information, and he doesn't seem to feel any better about it.
Joseph took a hit (can't tell whether he was protected Marek or taking a sniper's bullet in his stead) and it seems to have snapped Marek out of his murderous rage. Last thing we see about them is Marek (who now sports a golden body and horns) carrying an unconscious Joseph-Blue away from XAT.

And...oh, no...don't tell me he's back on the active roster...

Holy crap. I mean, holy crap.

Not only did we get a fair share of information on the Amalgam process and some of the truths behind it but we get major developments.
- The Amalgams used nanomachines, which is why XAT never discovered anything in the blood samples; the bots are simply too fragile to resist exposure to air and dissolve into proteins. The 'virus' affects the proteins in the body and instigate an accelerated evolution, which means that an Amalgam (for those who didn't see it coming) is in fact a super-human who took a shortcut in the natural evolution process. Stripehead is there to create as many as possible and find out the 'super-amalgam', AKA Blassreiter.
- Wolf got suckered - big time. When he used the taser on Jil, there was a nanomachine transfer that hit his hand thanks to the electric current (which created an electric circuit of sorts)...and now he's suffering from the typical hallucinations preceding a transformation. Stripehead gave him a reprieve thanks to an injection (meant to delay the conversion process) but in the same time cornered him into assisting her: now that he's an Amalgam-to-be, he's in Joseph's crosshairs...which means that he has every reason to make XAT take Blue down. BTW, Joseph's full name is now known to Wolf, but I don't think he shared that knowledge with the rest of the team.
- Gory...the school bullies really got what they deserved, but Marek obviously didn't care on messily he'd deliver his own justice. I mean, being impaled by the throat on a tree's branch after having your skull half-crushed OR having a soda can jammed down your throat till you choke on your own blood aren't exactly peaceful ways to reach the Thereafter.
- Honestly, how many times must Joseph take bullets for someone else's sake? I know it was the right thing to do but, still...I don't want this to evolve into a pattern...
- Amanda knows about Marek. Looks like the XAT team is TRULY breaking down now...both Wolf and Amanda have been hit pretty hard in one episode and now their motives/allegiances become questionable.
- Looks like Elea can pilot the bike on her own AND create a surrounding shield on her own. Amazing what an AI can do. I wonder whether she's a byproduct of Amalgam assimilation or if she's part of Blassreiter's field of technological possibilities...after all, the tech seems pretty advanced already, so...

well it was a good episode, nice gore :P

about the nanomachins don't assume that what she called "speed up evolution" is really the case, evolution ofter all is not something that can be sped up, at best you can look at it after it happened and try to understand what caused what.

malek simply gave the bullies what they were giving him and yohan, it only seems fair to me.

i dont think malek "snapped" he seemed perfectly composed to me, pissed off, but composed and fully aware of his actiones.
he didn't kill anyone from XAT and warned them, i think that joseph's injury simply caused him to retreat to save joseph as he saved maleks life..

Ugh....my problem with the show is that it's losing it's focus. It just keeps on following the characters without going anywhere.

Also Amanda is the worst older sister. After Malek's friend dies and she is now aware of his bullying problem.....
What she should do: Stay with Malek. Talk some sense into the bully's parents.
What she did: Totally ignored the issue that needs to be solved and told him to persevere. Ie. she said. "Yeh Gota go look 4 Blue now. K thnx bye"

Sigh....now to watch episode 8...

Well, Malek DID lose it. As understandable as it may be, it's still murder. Poor guy is pretty much bent out of shape already, I wonder if he'll see the end of the show. At the current breakneck speed - probably not. But then again, if Malek dies TOO, how are they supposed to do at least a bittersweet ending?

The show is moving very very fast now - are we really sure it's 2 seasons, as announced on various sources?

Episode 7.
Wow, Amanda is the worst sister ever! What the Hell did she adopt Malek for anyway, housesitting? You don't adopt someone and have a job that calls you away all the time. Even after finding out the truth she didn't do anything, just ran off back to work. Ever heard of taking a few days off Amanda? Or better yet getting a job with better hours?

I feel for Johann though, he had a tough life being poor, being bullied and having betrayed his best friend. It was also the final straw for Malek, so no surprise when he was offered the pill.

Episode 8
"Oh I'm sure Malek-kun will be fine Amanda"
"Yeah"
Jeez how wrong can you get. No sympathy for the bullies, none. But Malek's 'Gold' form is a bit off in the face for me. The horns could have been better too. But he seems to be in full control like Joseph though. Speaking of Joseph he hasn't been very interesting lately. Just hanging around and taking bullets. At least Amanda is acting like a real sister at last, don't be a XAT drone and actually do something!

We finally got some information about the Amalgams, interesting stuff. And poor Wolf's being played so bad, another interesting development. Well I'm sure eventually Malek will see the error of his ways, odds are good he'll be the Blassreiter given what we've seen so far. The again I thought Gerd was the main character....and look how that ended.
